Introduction

Established in 1974 by the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Board of Legal Specialization is the only organization authorized to certify attorneys and paralegals in Texas. Certification is available for attorneys in 21 select areas of law and paralegals in seven areas. The TBLS serves as a professional resource for certified attorneys, elevating the standards of the legal profession and providing a competitive edge for top legal professionals in Texas.
