Wanted to push the limits of my  #printrbotsimple . Enlarged the green bear print 2X and had it print over night.

Woke up this morning and was happy to see the bigger print completed without any issues.

Big bear next to the lil' bear. Grrrrr. And they say there are no more grizzly bears in California...

This weekend did a #homebrew , nine gallons of beer using an eight gallon kettle. First beer was six gallons of Triple Belgian IPA (recipe from Chop and Brew episode #3) and then made a weaker beer from the same grains to make a Saison style beer that will have a low ABV.

Home made stir plate to help with the yeast starter, and plenty of hops, glass cleaning, and boiling.

Beers started actively fermenting about five hours after pitching the yeast. Will be moving to my "beer closet" under the stairs for further fermentation once I add 1 lb of sugar syrup to the first beer and there is no need for a blow off tube.

If you are having issues connecting your #printrbotsimple   #3dprinter   to a computer, you may need to re-flash the firmware onto your Printrboard.

My Printrboard rev.D was not connecting to my laptop and the USB driver was not registering. First check that the USB chord is not broken, otherwise you can try this fix.

MAC OS: It is really easy if you have a Mac, just download the Firmware Update App from user PxT and re-install the frimware following the instructions.

'WINDOWS: Follow the instructions on the Prinrtbot Firmware PDF
http://printrbot.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Printrbot-Firmware.pdf
You can also find detailed instructions on their wiki.

It may be a bit tricky to get your Prinrtbot Simple up and running, but one you do it is an AWESOME machine! Hope this helps-

First print with my new Prinrtbot Simple. Built it over the weekend and calibrated it last night. Printing a 20mmx20mm "lozenge" part to see how accurate the setting are.

the simple is $300 for the kit.. and with the holidays are right around the corner now might be a good time to start shopping. plus the MAKE 3D printers guide 2014 just came and talks all about lots of other cool printers out there. But the printrbot simple is defiantly a lot of bang for your buck.

Really impressed with the quality of the bear I just printed using the #printrbotsimple . First attempt to use a layer height of 0.1mm with an infill speed of 27mm/sec. PLA with nozzle set to 205C.

File downloaded from Thingverse.com and came with the support material in the STL. Hard to see in the images, the print even has the details of the fur.

Curious why there are evenly spaced layers visible, even though the part is very smooth to the touch.

Just tried an India Pale Lager from Sudwerk Brewing Co. New favorite beer, and best of all they are local to Davis, Ca!
