Just started my own modeling project - improving the Xelocian Cruiser prow to give it the same look as the heavier ships...

I have moderate graphic design  and testing experience - happy to support the effort however I can.

I've read through the background material from the sample of OQL. I found it to be well thought out and well written.

However, there was one item that tweaked my suspension of disbelief - the hyper-oxidizing microbe in the upper atmosphere. Immediately, lots of questions popped into my head - does it affect ceramics and carbon fibers as well; why would it be so difficult to protect against; why hasn't it migrated/mutated and also oxidized metals on the surface?

I ask all this in the hopes of offering some constructive ideas for the new edition.

Was the meta-effect desired to isolate and restrict space travel?

Can you share a little more about this?

OK, I've signed up to support the KS campaign, because I feel that sci-fi FATE is worth supporting.

I'd like to get up to speed on the background in the meantime.

Where is the best place to start? Helios Rising, Operation Quicklaunch, or something else?
