great time-lapse from Brian on the Seattle/Bremerton ferry trip!
Yesterday, we lucked out and got the very front parking spot on the ferry! Here is a time lapse video of the WSDOT Seattle to Bremerton ferry on a sunny day from that spot.

I "found" Iain's work only 3-4 years ago, and voraciously consumed it all. I loved his science fiction, his sense of future and thinking past and through some heavy topics. I'm so sad we've lost him and his visions of a theoretical future in the Culture

So I decided to start building up an index for the T5 core rule book (BBB). Not anything official, but if you'd like to take a section of pages or contribute to terms, I'd be happy of the assistance.

If you want access to edit directly, send me your email and I'll set it up so you can contribute directly.

Right now, I'm just starting with the Table of Contents as a basis for terms and categories - that's going to change as I morph this into an index.

Any suggestions for "quick translating" CT players to T5?

In particular, I've been looking at re-using some of the short adventures (Death Station, in specific) to reply with the T5 rules. In the adventure, there were a number of pre-generated characters, and while I could make up a new set of 6 or so potential PCs, I thought it would be interesting to see what folks would suggest for porting "quick characters" forward - specifically how to translate the skills forward, and what (and how) to add skills to align them more with the T5 rule set.

I walked through making a character with the T5 rulebook, and all in all it went pretty well. There were a couple of character generation walk-through's at COTI that were invaluable to help with the process though. (

In particular, you end up having to flip around in the book a bit - I did a 4-term soldier that went to a military academy, and I found myself bouncing back and forth in that section between the flowchart to know what I was supposed to be doing next, and the tables near fame (used for risk/reward and medals in military terms), and the sections of the book around skills and knowledges.
