Thai online pizza ordering... the quickest and easiest I've ever experienced (once I figured out how to create an account). Google translate called it "Double Peppermint Oroni" and ketchup packets were included in case one wanted "extra sauce"... hmmm.... Still, quite tasty!

Soon the process will begin to get released from the hospital and go back to the recovery hotel.. While not recovered by any means, the first stage of SRS will be over. Wish me luck! - at Aikchol Hospital, Chon Buri, Thailand.

I'm back at the hotel, where I'll recover for a couple weeks. At this point everything is progressing nicely. :)

As usual an idiot wrote that news story with all the mis-gendering and confusion between sex and gender.

My first cross stitch project that I designed (I used the GIMP actually).

Inspired by and created during my time in Thailand, but not finished until now.

For all of us...

A long time ago... two young people got married one summer, and moved to Greece. It was a time of eating outside at Pappas' in Kifissia, of sitting on the veranda drinking Cava Cambas champagne (350 drachmas a bottle, I think), of watching "Dynasty" on TV and laughing at how the Greek subtitles were better than the English dialog, and many other things. This song was new and popular then and has always stayed in my head as the symbol of that time.

So even though we're not physically together right now, this one's for you, sweetie, "εγω και εσυ, εσυ και εγω, μονοι πανο στη γη"

Δεν μιλάς ελληνικά; δεν πειράζει... Just play it and enjoy - the chorus can be translated, "Me and you, you and me, alone on earth"

Here is a link to my #PyCon talk... which wasn't about Python at all, but my experiences being trans* in tech. I was touched, proud, and flabbergasted that I got a standing ovation... that was very special. #pycon2014

The unappreciated power of being unremarkable

The western media creates plenty of myths and bad hype about trans people.  I think that your use of the word "unremarkable" is relative those creations. Your post is an example of good memetic fragment.

Great location, nice (if somewhat utilitarian) rooms, pleasant and helpful staff, and very nice breakfast, all for very competitive rates. I will be back!

Bad food, worse service The three young men did nothing technically "wrong" when I was there. When I ordered I asked for a Vito, chips and a medium diet. One kid slapped together my sandwich, on very stale bread, with no vinaigrette that I could taste, and the other pushed a cup at me and muttered something I couldn't hear about a drink. I paid what he asked and then when I picked out my chips he told me I hadn't paid for the chips. I told him I'd asked for chips and he sullenly told me he'd asked me if I was getting a just a drink and I hadn't mentioned the chips. He then stared at me clearly expecting me to just put the chips back. When I asked him how much the chips were he made a sour face at me and reluctantly took my money for the chips. Clearly letting me buy what I'd originally ordered was a horrible inconvenience. So they have a killer combination - bad food and worse service. It had been a long time since I'd tried Jimmy John's... and I don't expect to ever return.
