My honest review on +Store Manager for Magento as submitted to their Facebook page.

===

I don't even know where to start with this software/company which says it all really...

I work in an agency and we have hundreds of Magento clients, we work with Magento day in day out on everything from design and bespoke development through to marketing, optimisation, hosting and server set ups. We know Magento inside out, unfortunately, it seems that the developers of this software very much don't!

If you have a very basic store and you only need to use a couple of basic features in this software, then you'll probably be okay - but of course, this wouldn't even begin to be worth the massively overpriced value they put on this software.

If you have anything that is remotely more advance, say configurable/bundled products with a variety of product associations, then be prepared for some of the biggest headaches you will have ever experienced. And don't think you will get anywhere with the live chat support, anything that goes beyond the tutorials they have on their website will have you going around in constant circles, trying to explain the best you can over massive language barriers (they are all Russian or Ukrainian) and will be passed to the 'tech engineers' (I cannot fault their effort though, they do try and are patient) - even priority cases won't even get you a response until at least 3 days later which is pretty useless considering as soon as this software causes you problems (instead of fixing them), you're generally left unable to even continue working on your store until they're resolved.

The software is buggy (it was many years ago when we first took it for a spin and years later, nothing has improved), it is modelled on MS Office so the UX is awful, is very un-user-friendly and you often waste a lot of time trying to find features or figure out how a certain functionality works. The bugs vary massively, some are minor and quickly overcome, others will cause some of the biggest messes in your database/store and unfortunately, despite countless attempts to try and explain these to their support team, they never a) understand what you are trying to explain or b) seem interested in resolving the problems. Until this company start listening and understanding their customers, I cannot see it ever improving which is a massive shame as there is some immense potential with this.

Think it will save you time? Think again. It is slow, clunky, missing what you would expect as obvious functionality that would help speed up the use of it. The list is literally endless. It is as if the software isn't even tested properly on large or complex catalog set ups. The simplest of changes in the software like making a certain field required could save you hours or days of debugging/research into what the heck has caused such random and weird issues in your Magento store but something as simple as this, their staff don't even seem to understand.

Frustrating is not even the word. I would not recommend this software to be used on any live/production stores at all. Clone your dev website, just connect this software to that and then after every change, sync the dev database to your live instance. If you can though, avoid this software at all costs.

I will consider updating my review when I see some significant improvements with their customer support/care and software updates.
