Squat Like a Toddler

If you ever want to observe perfect biomechanics, watch a toddler pick up a toy from the floor. You'll never see them bending over, moaning in agony like an old man. They drop their hips, maintain a perfect center of gravity while lowering themselves, then pop right back up with the ease of an Olympic lifter.

Interestingly enough, they never attended an 'ergonomics' class to acquire such perfect form. Their little bodies are innately designed to do it - and at one time in your life, your body worked like that too. You were able to lift, bend, sit, walk, run, sleep and with perfect, innate biomechanics. But somewhere along the way, your body picked up bad habits and compensated movements that now create pain and physical limitations in your daily life.

If PAIN is your body forgetting how to line up and move the way it was originally designed to, HEALTH is the return to the original blueprint. If you want to get your life back, remind your body how it was meant to function. Sounds like the perfect job for a Chiropractor.

The Annals of Vertebral Subluxation Research published a case study with a review of pertinent literature on March 6, 2017, documenting the positive effect chiropractic has on people with hypertension. The study defines hypertension as a systolic blood pressure of greater than 140 mm Hg or a diastolic blood pressure greater than 90 mm Hg.

Quantity Counts

A bottle of water can put out a candle flame, but it won't put out a raging forest fire – it’s the right tool, but not nearly the right QUANTITY to get the job done. The same can be said for the amount of chiropractic care you may need for your particular problem.

The purpose of frequent adjustments is to keep your nerve system clear long enough so your body can grow into a new, healthier state. For many (especially if you have long standing, chronic health issues) that means a higher quantity of sessions in the beginning to help your body overcome the ‘fire’ going on inside you. Note, adjustments don't do the healing... it's the time you remain subluxation free that does.

One day at the gym won’t turn you into Arnold Schwarzenegger and a single, low carb meal won't make you skinny. Exercise and proper nutrition can get you healthy, but they need to be repeated regularly to see real change. Likewise, desired chiropractic results come from time, repetition and a sustained clear nerve system. Don’t expect one session to get the job done.

When Your Back Gets the Boot

You woke up this morning, tried to get out of bed only to discover your back is completely locked up - like a steel parking boot has been slapped on it, rendering your whole body UN-driveable. Maybe you should have paid more attention to the warnings signs that were piling up over the past several months.

Neglect is the enemy of normal function. That little twinge in your back you felt a few days ago, the morning soreness you've been getting more often, think of them as 'parking tickets' warning you to get in compliance with the laws of spinal maintenance or pay a heftier penalty down the road. When you continue to ignore ticket after ticket, don't be surprised if one day you find your entire spine seized and locked out of commission. That's what happens when subluxations go unchecked and uncorrected.

So the lesson of the story... don't wait for your spinal issues to get out of hand before doing something about it. Be responsible... take care of the small infractions (subluxations) in your spine now before they lead to bigger problems in the future.

Roller Coaster Chiropractic

It's not uncommon to see clients who get great results from chiropractic stop their care once they feel good, only to return with their original problem or something worse. Many repeat this cycle over and over again - traveling up and down the feel good, feel bad roller coaster of temporary relief, without truly getting healthy.

Chiropractic used correctly goes beyond the wavering cycles of symptomatic care, to pursuing the higher standard of optimal function. Whether you feel good or bad, a body that exists in a sustained subluxated state is less likely to repair itself when injured or perform to its best when under demand. If, however your body is allowed to reach its full potential with regular adjustments and a perpetually clear Nerve System, the sky's the limit to what you can achieve.

If your chiropractor gets you up and over the first challenging hill on your road to recovery, don't expect the rest of your health to coast perpetually without some effort to keep it going. Unfortunately, the temporary pain relief ride eventually stops. If you want abundant health, you need to keep the Chiropractic momentum going.
