A special shout out to Bridgman's and last nights dinner. I have been reading reviews from my fellow Hullonians and you did not dissapoint! The 16 ounce cowboy ribeye melted in your mouth and the wine suggestion from Kathy our server was spot on. From the salad to the amazing mouth watering desert, I can't encourage you enough to give this new Bridgmans a chance. You will not be dissapointed. 5 stars my friends. Thank you Diane, the new owner for our lively conversation as well, you made the evening special.

A solid local option for a variety of dishes. It isn't what you might call "fine dining" but is a good spot for dates or to take visiting relatives.

My experience at Bridgeman's was just okay. My girlfriend and I were close to the area and just looking for a bite, It was late August so we expected a wait and Bridgeman's was the least of which and offered us the option of sitting at the bar. The Bar service was great and the drinks were very tasty and worth the money, after which they brought us upstairs to our table. The decor and overall vibe is great and we had a seat right next to the window facing the ocean. My problem was with the service our waitress was polite enough but not very attentive given much of the dining room was occupied with and older crowd and a larger family (10 or 12) there for some sort of function but I being you and admittedly baby faced we seemed to be more or less ignored for a portion. The waitress commented that we already had drinks at the bar but seemed more annoyed since we had paid earlier and not transferred the drinks to her bill. My girlfriend ordered the haddock with lobster mashed and I ordered the Long Island Duck. The salads that accompanied the entrees were delicious, fresh and very simple and something that I really appreciate before a meal. Our entrees arrived and my girlfriends fish was well seasoned and cooked although the lobster mashed tasted more like just a salt bomb with a pinkish hue. My duck arrived and I have to say the accompanying barley risotto was unbelievable but I specifically ordered my duck medium rare and this was well done. I'm usually not one to complain but when you come to a place like this and spend a little extra money you expect your food to come out as your ordered. When I relayed this to the waitress she acted almost annoyed and explained "well normally people don't order it that way" I have worked as a line cook for 9 years and have been cooking all my life, let me assure you duck is never meant to be well done. I don't know if it was our age or just her attitude, but no matter it was an adequate experience but I would not be one to come back and spend my money here again

Bridgeman's is good for the south shore, but then the south shore has no top restaurants. The food is fresh, the restaurant clean, and the service is good, but the food is not outstanding as the rating suggests and the view has as much parking lot as open ocean. It's not exactly Cohasset harbor. If you want reliable food on the South Shore, Bridgeman's fits the bill. If you want fine dining, you need to head into Boston.
