When internet came to Victoria, TISD (formerly Testengeer) was awesome: inexpensive, reliable, and very responsive. Well, TISD is still in the ISP business, and they're still reliable and responsive. However, they didn't remain cheap! I have rural internet with them (Wood Hi area) and although their service is less expensive than satellite internet, it's nowhere as good. Their broadband wireless download speeds are so bad you can't even watch a YouTube clip without waiting 5 minutes to buffer! And the 'premium' service (which promises somewhat faster download speeds) costs every bit as much as satellite. If you don't like contracts and you don't have access to any other high-speed internet in rural areas, you're stuck with TISD. But if you don't mind a contract...consider satellite. Its a lot faster for about the same price. If you're urban, you'll have much better results at a much better price with Suddenlink or Verizon!
