Curious Amazon.com description of coffee I was considering ordering: "Take in the sights and sounds of the vast Capital Wasteland". Hmm... Not exactly a taste of Tuscani I was hoping for.

.... then it continued:

"See the great monuments of the United States lying in post-apocalyptic ruin! " -- then the best for last: "Rain death and destruction... featuring gory dismemberments and spectacular explosions."

Here is the full description: https://skitch.com/timothykerber/fp61n/coffee

Think I'll stick with the medium roast.

Apple has more cash right now than the U.S. Government: http://www.cnn.com/2011/TECH/innovation/07/29/apple.cash.government/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
Maybe the cash-strapped U.S. government should start selling iPads.

This is a worthwhile read. "50 New Tech Tools You May Have Missed".
Technology can make your life easier, but figuring out which tech tools to trust can be tiresome at the least and eye-poppingly stressful at worst.

Very excited to finally be able to announce MemberGate's next membership site success conference. It is being held to coincide with +Anne Holland's Subscription Site Insider Summit at the same location in New York City. Very cool location and looking forward to it! http://www.membergate.com/MGinNYC

At first, it looks like a sleek Apple store. Sales assistants in blue T-shirts with the company's logo chat to customers. Signs advertising the iPad 2 hang from the white walls. Outside, the famous lo...

We just returned and were unfortunately disappointed. Our lackluster experience started even before we got to the room. Our room wasn't ready yet so they said they would call on my on my cell phone shortly. 2 hours (and past check in time) later, I called them to find out the status. The reply "oh, no one called you? That has been ready for you.". Okay... The next day we arrived at the indoor pool early (8:30) as our kids were excited to swim. We were informed by the girl working that there was a swim class from 9:15 to 10:30. No problem, we'd let them swim for half an hour and get them out in plenty of time before the class. Through back and forths with her it became apparent she didn't want ANY kids in there between now and the start of the class in 45 minutes and she wasn't particularly polite about it. She then proceeded to chat with another young worker (both appeared to be eastern european workers..Ukraine perhaps...?) The impression was not a lot of time was spent on the customer service side of things prior to them working there for the Summer. There were other similar issues but the over all effect was that we were not inclined to go back there. It was not up to the resort standards the we were hoping for at close to $400 per night.
