I had my non running car towed into there shop on a whim, because of there great reviews and a shop in the area was trying to charge me $1800.00+ to replace my cars computer. I wanted a second opinion and the guy behind the counter explained the diagnostic process and that it would cost me a little over $100.00 with tax pretty standard, I agreed and left. They called me within the time they said and explained what was causing my problem was my cars air sensor. They cleaned it and it now runs awesome and has since then. The guy behind the counter also advised me on some preventative maintenance stuff my car needed without the high pressure sales commonly found at other shops I have been to, which I will take it back for! RELIABLE HAS EARNED MY TRUST AND MY BUSINESS! There name says it all I WILL definitely be bringing all 5 of my family's vehicles to this shop from here on out. They vacuumed my car and put an air freshener with a thank you card signed by the mechanic that worked on my car which is awesome, the little things matter! By the way I walked out of there with a bill that was exactly what I was quotes no b.s. fees THANKS ALOT RELIABLE, Christian Q.

I had my truck towed to their shop because it wouldn't start and they ended up just replacing the battery. When I got my truck back there where two engine lights on my abs and slip lights came on. I took it back the next day as soon as they opened, I wanted them to fix the lights (that they set off) do an alignment check a clicking sound and install my sway bar end links. I came back around 5pm that day to pick it up and nothing was done. They said they couldn't figure out the check engine lights, that it was an electrical issue. They told me the clicking sound was a loose hubcap. The alignment couldn't be done because my tires where too big. And they couldn't install the sway bar links because they "couldn't find the bushing". After sitting in the lobby with the guy at the counter trying to find the part for 45 minutes I called up the manufacturer and found the part in 5 minutes. Needless to say I didn't take it back, I took it to another mechanic and he found the clicking sound in my driveline not my "hubcap" fixed it installed my sway bar links cleared the engine lights and aligned my truck all in two hours. These idiots had my truck all day and didn't fix one thing, not even the problem they made in the first place. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS MECHANIC. THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY WHERE DOING.

I went here because I saw they had a special on a deal site for a service I needed, but I never expected to leave feeling so positive. I'm a very anxious person and my history of one bad car situation after another has left me extremely apprehensive when it comes to car repairs. When we arrived at the shop the gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming, and got us checked in. The waiting area was equipped with a drink fridge fully stocked and a comfortable waiting area, and a great selection of movies my 4 year old child watch while we waited. When it came time to discuss recommendations Phil was very patient with me as I asked several questions to understand basic car functions. I never pay for things I don't understand. I couldn't afford to do the recommendations right away, but he did an excellent job speaking with me until I felt confident that I understood what was needed. I gave this 4 stars because I was told it would a certain time and it took considerably longer, but there was also a glitch where my appointment wasn't on the schedule, so that's probably due to them squeezing me in. Additionally their parts look a little pricier than I'd love, but they do offer a 2 year warranty on their parts and service. Overall I'm very impressed and will be returning. I may have found an honest trust worthy mechanic that I'm not leaving feeling ripped off. Huge thanks to Phil for taking the time to explain things to me without making me feel stupid!

I just moved out here from CO, and had a great mechanic back home that I had been going to for over 10 years, so I was worried about finding a place I could trust in Sandy. I had an issue with my RDX where it started making strange noises and steam came out from under the hood while it was idling, and my battery was dead in the morning. When I called Reliable Auto, they got me in right away even though I was a new customer. My car was driving fine and there were no warning lights on. They inspected my car and said that everything looked good, and they weren't sure what had happened, but they couldn't find anything that they could justify fixing. Later that afternoon my car began making the same noises while idling. I recorded the noise on my phone and took it straight back to Reliable Auto. They offered to keep my car overnight and gave me a loaner so they could check it out first thing in the morning. When they called in the morning, they told me there was a problem with the AC compressor and gave me an estimate for just over $1200, which I approved. When my car was finished that afternoon, they told me the source of the issue was different than they initially thought and my total was only $220. They easily could have taken me for the $1200 I had initially approved. My car is now running perfectly and I couldn't be more happy with this shop. I really appreciate their honesty and am glad I have found a place I can trust out here. They will definitely be my new mechanic for as long as I'm in Salt Lake and I would recommend them to anyone!

These guys are great. Took the buick in for new shocks and they told me I didn't need new shocks, just replace bushing. Half the price! AND, they have free pops in the waiting area!

They said they needed to do a brake check and it would take 30 minutes. 2 hours later they tell me that my car needs ceramic brakes and new rotors. When I asked why the brakes cost so much the mechanic said they could use lower quality brakes but they would void any warranty. These guys are really just selling parts at a high markup. I went to auto zone and got ceramic brakes for half the price they would have charged for their low end stuff. In my 2 hours sitting and waiting for them to finish their 30 minute brake check it seemed that a lot of their customers ended up needing extra parts sold at a large markup. I would avoid them.

In short - customer service was very good, pricing/honesty was atrocious. I hope if you get work done by this shop that you check around and make sure they aren't trying to take advantage of you like they did me. These guys were friendly and even gave me a ride home, so the customer service aspect was great, but the pricing and advice was atrocious. My car broke down in Sandy, which was a bit far from my normal mechanic, so I jumped on Google to see if there were any good mechanics close and found these guys. I had my car towed in and they told me the problem was my battery and I would need a new one. The price they quoted was higher than several other places that I later called to install the same battery. I drive home and the next day within 10 minutes of driving, my car dies in the exact same manner as before. So, I call them and they call a tow-truck to come get me, which was nice and part of the good customer service. I told them that it obviously wasn't the battery and that I would like to put the old battery back in and have a refund, but they said they had already disposed of the old battery and I could not get any refund. I was unhappy at this and it raised a serious red flag for me. A competent shop should be able to tell if battery is good or not. I later took my car to another shop that said any shop that wouldn't always show you the read-out from a battery test was shady - Reliable never even asked if I wanted to see it. They have my car for another day before declaring they then believed the problem to be a crankshaft sensor and it would be over $400 to replace. At this point I called my regular mechanic along with 7 or 8 other shops to see how much they would charge for the parts and labor compared to Reliable for this crankshaft sensor. Of each of the other shops, Reliable was by FAR the highest, including shops such as Firestone and Big O etc. I ended up getting it installed for about $150, which means Reliable tried to charge me over $250 more than they should have.

Had a car go in for air conditioning unit. They said they fixed it, ac didn't work. Wanted to charge more money for another part.. took it to a different mechanic, they never plugged in my ac unit. Reliable my ***... I'm sure you can finish the sentence.
