Still on the fence about coming to The Oregon Friends of Shelter Animal's FurryTail Gala on April 30th? Well, we are hoping to sway you...
These six puppies just came to us and are representative of what we take in on a weekly basis. Six puppies that will require relatively long term and expensive care, which no other rescue wants to take on. So animals like these usually wait to die; not knowing what awaits them. This is where OFOSA steps in. The last hope, their last chance, and many times, at the very last second.

OFOSA is committed to taking in the sick, broken and neediest of animals. We do not, and have never taken a cherry picking approach, which means taking the most easily adoptable animals. We bring in the animals that need us the most, often pulling them straight from the euthanasia room.

Although a noble cause, and one we wouldn't trade for anything, our definition of 'animal rescue' proves time and time again to be quite costly. For example, right now, we have:
• A dog currently in heart-worm treatment.
• Three animals with broken bones & one more coming.
• Two animals with mange and six more coming.
• 20 combined litters of puppies and kittens.
• Several pregnant mommas and more are coming.
The Furry Tails Gala is our main source of income for the entire year, so to say that it's success is vital is an understatement. We need YOUR help to make it a success, and to continue our life-saving efforts.

Please join us for a night of fun! The 8th Annual Furry Tail Gala will be bigger and better than ever! There will be delicious food, yummy drinks and tons of fresh, new items to bid on in both the silent and live auctions.

A fun new feature this year will be our spacious "Paws Pavilion" tent, where you can grab a drink, nosh on hors d'oeuvres, relax and mingle with fellow animal lovers all while browsing the bountiful silent auction items before going into the main building for a fantastic sit-down dinner and to raise the paddles for the live auction!
We will have a some of our amazing "Happy Tale" success stories in the house so you can see how your generosity can make incredible changes to many animal's lives. You will be astonished on their amazing journey from cold, dark despair to the warmth and love of a forever home.

Come Eat, Drink, Bid, Have Fun and Raise Money to help OFOSA save the animals and find them Forever Homes.

Space is limited, don't miss out, register here- http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07ec79hy916d25ffdf&llr=k4xxu4vab

These seven little puppies were found severely malnourished roaming the streets of Loreto, Mexico. A good Samaritan scooped them up along with their mama and took them to a shelter. OFOSA, with the help of Rescue Express brought them to the safety of our rescue in Oregon. Their health has been restored, and they are now thriving beautiful pups looking for a forever home and family to love them.
OFOSA saves the lives of pets who would otherwise be euthanized in overcrowded, high-kill shelters. As a friend of OFOSA and animal lover, we know you like to see the pets whose lives benefit from your support.
We ask that you help us with these sweet little pups and the other beautiful lives we save every day.
Please donate today to give these and other babies the happy life they deserve!
Your contribution today will help save lives tomorrow.
Please share this with your friends.
Go to www.mkt.com/ofosa
For information about adopting one of these puppies call OFOSA at 503-747-7818 or email info@ofosa.org and reference the Loreto Mexico Pups. There are 5 girls and 2 boys. They all have been vaccinated and spayed and neutered. The breed is determined to be a boxer mix.

One minute you have a thriving puppy that is playing and romping around with her foster family and the next she is on deaths door needing an expensive emergency surgery to save her life. This is what happened last night to little Tatum. Her OFOSA foster mom Jennifer brought her in last night to an awaiting surgical team headed by Dr Shawn Thomas at Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency. Tatum first presented with a rectal prolapse, but then they were dealing with an intesusseption. One of the most difficult intesusseption surgeries Dr. Thomas said he has experienced. Little Tatum now has a bright future and we are certain she is going to be some future families loved and cherished furry addition.
Today is Giving Tuesday and we are hoping you could open your pockets and help us pay for Tatum’s surgery and post surgery treatment. Right now our bill is currently $818, but with post care, it is going to require another $600 before this is done. One bonus is that Dr Thomas spayed Tatum while she was in there.

*An intussusception occurs when a one part of the intestine folds into another part. This causes a blockage in the intestine called bowel obstruction. It affects blood supply to the intestine and can lead to tissue death. If left untreated, it would lead to certain death. OFOSA deals with many medical challenges that other shelters will not. If Tatum were at one of these shelters, she would have been euthanized.
