The most original #museums in #Norway

Norway as a tourist destination offers many #places to #visit and #activities to do, but certainly one of the best options is to visit its numerous museums. We suggest you pay attention to some of the most original museums in the world, which you can found in different parts of this country of #Northern #Europe.

Museum of #Viking #Ships (#Oslo): a large selection of the best-preserved ships in the #world. They were found in three #Kings #tombs and buried there more than 1100 years ago in order to #transport their owners in the realm of the dead. In this museum you can also see other artifacts found in the graves, such as textiles and household items. One of the most important objects in the #exhibition is the Oseberg ship, found by the Swedish archaeologist Gabriel Gustafson, and Norwegian archaeologist Haakon Shetelig between 1904 and 1905. The ship was built of oak in 820 for Queen of Vikings; apparently, it was the Queen Åsa of Ynling dynasty.

Museum of #Nobel #Peace #Prize (Oslo), which represents the #Alfred Nobel, shows the history of Norway as a nation of peace. A visit to this museum is one of the best ways to see all the winners of this award and the works they have done, in addition to #temporary exhibitions and numerous activities for #children.

Norwegian Folk Museum (Oslo) is an open-air museum that gives you the chance to see traditional costumes, clothes and houses typical of Norway. In addition, there are special exhibitions with a variety of dances, food, animals and ideas to better understand the #culture of this Nordic country. During the #Christmas #holidays, here it opens to the #public a large #market.

The #House of #Ole Bull (#Lysøen): an unconventional museum, as the very life of Norwegian violinist Ole #Bull, located in a building in the eastern part of the island. It was built between 1872 and 1873 and was decorated with many #ornaments. A #journey through the music and history of Norway.

Norwegian #Forest Museum (Elverum): If anything distinguishes this country that are huge areas covered with forests and activities like #fishing and #hunting. Norwegian #mentality is closely related to all aspects of forestry and all this is reflected in this museum.

#Cod Museum (Kristiansund): Norway is a major exporter of cod, for this reason, it has been opened to the public a specialized museum. Located on the #island Gomlandet, this is very interesting to learn about the evolution and importance of this fish for the country, and the opportunity to try it, of course.

The Polar Museum (Tromsø) is located inside the building, which appears to be ice blocks, which are pushed to the shores by #Arctic Ocean. The Arctic museum has amazing cultural artifacts. In order to promote awareness of Arctic flora and fauna and their respective climatic and #ecological #consequences, this museum was #inaugurated in 1997.

#Rockheim Museum: one of the contemporary museum, which opened in 2010, is dedicated to the #pop-rock and country music. The aim of this museum is to preserve and explain to all who are interested the history of Norwegian folk music from the 50s until today. A very interesting choice, especially for #music #lovers.

The #ancient# capital of #Japan and its #temples.

A #legend says it that in #Kasuga temple lived four gods and one of them (Takenomikazuchi-no-Mikoto) was invited to visit #Nara #Park. And, when he came to Mount Mikasa-yama, he made it by riding a white #deer. Since then, the deer is considered so sacred that for many years, those who dared to kill one of these animals, were sentenced to #death. Today, these animals are #protected and considered a #national #treasure of the #country.

This is only part of the #great #miracles that took place in the Japanese city of Nara, formerly known as #Heijo-kyo, which was the first capital of Japan between 710 and 794 years. Such is the importance of the name of the city that in Korea it is believed to come from the word "#nation", although for many linguists its origin must be sought in the Japanese word "nadaraka", which means "plane place".

Among the main #attractions that you can see here, there are some really incredible temples. The #Todaiji, built in 752, is one of the most #famous in the country. To enter, you should cross the wonderful door Nandaimon, which is guarded by two huge #bronze guardians. Inside the church is situated the #largest #statue of #Buddha in all Japan, with height of nearly 15 meters and weighing 500 tons.

Despite the fact that the #church has #undergone numerous #attacks and #destruction, it remains the largest in Japan. To get an #idea of how the temple was, in the #center you can see a #model that includes two side pagodas, which today, unfortunately, no longer #exist.

Next to the statue of the #GreatBuddha is the #column with a hole crossing it. According to legend, if you go through it, then you will have many blessings in the next life. However, be careful! Some tourists have been trapped, and even had to ask for help.

From temple to temple, you now come to #Horyuji, or the temple of #flourishing #law. Its #importance is due to the #fact that, in particular, its construction was conducted by Prince Shotoku, who introduced #Buddhism in Japan, and it is the largest #wooden church of the country. Such is its importance that the Horyuji Temple in 1993 was included in the #World #Heritage #List of #UNESCO and #declared a #national #treasure of Japan.

During your tour of the city of Nara, you will see other #interesting temples, full of legends and stories, just as well as the country of Japan itself.

The best sunsets in the world

Leave behind stress, work, responsibilities ... And enjoy the best time of day: the sunset, which is the truly magical moment when you can enjoy the beauty of the sun in all its majesty. The sunsets can be seen every day, but none of them is as the previous one, so we invite you to visit some amazing places in the world where you can enjoy the incredible sunsets and feel this magic moment.

1. Santorini (Greece). This small volcanic island conquer even the most experienced traveler with its contrast of landscapes that include the black sand beaches and steep slopes of the mountains overlooking the ocean.
This Greek island, moreover, is one of the best places to enjoy incredible sunsets in the Mediterranean Sea, where you can watch the boats in golden colors and white buildings with pink and red accents on the rocks of the island. Once in life, everyone should visit this island and enjoy this absolutely magical experience.

2. The Mount Sinai in Egypt. Undoubtedly, this symbolic place for Christianity is one of the best places to see the sunset in Egypt. From the top of the mountain over 2,200 meters, you can enjoy the unique sight: the sun that is gradually hiding among the rocky hills of the Sinai Peninsula.

And down at the foot of the mountain, you can visit the monastery of St. Catherine or the Monastery of the Transfiguration, included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO in 2002. It contains the world's second largest collection (after collection of samples in the Vatican Library) of codes and manuscripts, with volumes in Greek, Coptic, Arabic, Armenian, Hebrew, Georgian and Syrian.

3. The Sahara (Africa). The legendary Sahara Desert, which covers the North Africa, has an area of more than nine million square kilometers. The planet's largest arid zone is one of the best places on earth to forget about all the problems and enjoy a moment of peace and connection with nature.

After passing the heat of the day with almost 50 degrees, and before camping your tent for the night under the stars, it is worth enjoying the amazing sunset over the golden sand dunes of the desert. This pleasure, however, is only suitable for the toughest and adventurous travelers.

4. Machu Picchu (Peru).
The Mount of Machu Picchu is a place where we all aspire to climb at least once in life. It is where we feel ourselves closer to the gods. Machu Picchu attracts us with its mysterious, unique and exciting atmosphere. There the air is cleaner, and the gods are much closer to humans.

The magic begins when the sun sets over the hill Huayna Picchu, painting with red and gold colors the ancient city of Machu Picchu. Gradually the temperature drops, the sky clears and you can see the stars in the distance, which occupied the imagination of the ancient Incas.

Whatever your desires, Tenerife offers everything you need for an unforgettable vacation on the best price and with maximum comfort for you and your family.
One of the main attractions of the island is, of course, the National Park of Las Cañadas del Teide, which received its name in 1954, and consists of a huge volcanic crater with a diameter of 48 km on top of the mount Teide, which rises to 3718 meters, so it is the highest peak in Spain.
The best way to visit this national park is to rent a car and to drive from the sunny south coast to the village of Vilaflor, which seems to be from the area of the Alps. Leaving behind the sea of clouds, the landscape changes dramatically, gradually becoming an incredible moonscape.
The national park is located at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level and in winter, it can be covered by snow. The temperature in these moments can be lower of 0 degrees, while in the summer it can reach 40 degrees.
The best way to climb to the highest point is to take the cable car of Teide. At the top, you can walk and enjoy the spectacular views of the island. You will be so close to the top, but the only way to see the volcano crater, is to apply for official permission beforehand in the virtual office of the National Park in La Orotava on its website. In addition, the guided tours to the volcano's crater are organized, but remember that you must be physically fit to stand this climbing, as it can last about 6 hours. Also, do not forget to bring warm clothing and appropriate footwear.
From the top of the mountain, mount Teide, which is the most visited attraction on the island, you can enjoy spectacular views of the other islands of the archipelago: Gran Canaria, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. No matter where you are in Tenerife, do not miss this incredible volcano and the true symbol of the island. Also, use the unique opportunity to see the National Park Tenerife from overhead view.

Where the Alps meet the Mediterranean – Slovenia

Slovenia is located in Central Europe and has borders with Italy, Austria, Croatia and Hungary. Located between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, this picturesque country has both: spectacular mountains and Adriatic coast. Distances between places in Slovenia are very short, and therefore in one day you can visit both the Slovenian coast and feel the Mediterranean climate, and the mountainous region Gorenjska with its fresh and continental climate. The change of scenery is amazing, and from the top of the highest mountain in Slovenia, Triglav (2,864 m) you can see the Adriatic coast if the weather is appropriate. And that is why a visit to Slovenia could be an excellent choice throughout the year, in summer or in winter, as there are a variety of winter sports and wonderful mountains, and at the same time, the country is very well located on the sea coast.
This variety of landscapes and beautiful contrasts is a landmark of Slovenia, which has many natural attractions located throughout the country in various places. Picturesque Mediterranean town on the Adriatic coast, clean and untouched nature in Triglav national park in the Slovenian Alps, glacial lakes of Bled and Bohinj with their exceptional beauty, the mysterious region of Karst with one of the largest cave systems in the world, wine region of Primorye and Posavje and a small, but charming capital Ljubljana, with its cobbled streets, beautiful medieval castle with city views. The fact that a third of the country is included in the European network of protected nature areas "European Natura 2000 Network", can help you imagine how beautiful is Slovenia.
In addition, Slovenia is situated at the crossroads of historical and geographical roads of Western, North and South Europe, so it is no wonder that the country is well connected with the rest of the continent in all directions and by all means of transport. In a few hours down the highway, you can be in Venice or Vienna. Slovenia is also easily accessible from neighboring countries (Italy, Austria, Croatia and Hungary) by a good road or a train, or you can take advantage of daily flights from many European cities. Slovenia became independent in 1990 and nowadays is a member of the EU and the euro zone with a single currency euro. The official language is Slovene (the group of Slavic languages), but in major cities and tourist places English is spoken, moreover many Slovenians speak German and Italian.
If you visit Slovenia for your family vacation, business meeting, for a weekend or for any other reason, we assure you will not be disappointed.

Three beautiful islands of Greece

White houses, blue-turquoise color of sea, romantic sunsets, aroma of the Mediterranean, mythological stories ... All this comes to mind of most of us when we speak about the Greek islands, which are very popular among the travelers from all over the world. However, among the more than 5,000 islands and islets it is not easy to choose the most beautiful. We tried to choose the best three islands of Greece, which you certainly must visit at least once in life.
Our first choice may seem classic, but it is no less true - Santorini. If you are looking for the perfect combination of ingredients listed at the beginning of this article, along with a dose of romance and a bit of nightlife that never hurts any vacation, then this is your island. The black volcanic beaches create incredibly beautiful landscape with turquoise sea and white houses in the village of Fira, located on the western side of the island. Here you can enjoy breathtaking views during the day and by night - breathtaking sunsets.
Not far from Corfu, the second largest of the Ionian Islands, lies this small, less famous, but absolutely amazing island of Paxos. A perfect oasis of tranquility for travelers seeking privacy and relax. Here you will find beautiful beaches and if you want to eat fresh fish - for you there are many restaurants in the main center of the island, Gaios. The best time to enjoy the magical atmosphere is the evening, when on the island reigns total peace and quiet.
Needless to say that Mykonos is the best choice for travelers who want to party during the holidays. Fun atmosphere prevails throughout the year on this Greek island that has become in recent years one of the most popular in Greece. Tourism, fortunately, not destroyed the beauty of the landscape, with picturesque houses and alleys, unique architecture and crystalline sea. Undoubtedly, to see the true heart of Mykonos you must visit the traditional fishing village on the island.

The best bars and pubs in Amsterdam

The Dutch capital of Amsterdam is not only Heineken, because there are many places here where you will be offered excellent coffee, cocktails, wines and other beverages.
In Amsterdam, there are bars of all shapes and sizes. From the great bars to degustation bars - proeverijen, in any case, a cafe or a bar is the center of the Dutch social life. Forget going from bar to bar: in Amsterdam you will spend all night at a nearby bar that serves as a home away from home, a place to rest after a day in the office, a dining area, a debating club, and sometimes even as a nightclub, all in the same place.
The brewery Heineken, who now works as a theme park, and the Amstel factory, which has long ago moved elsewhere, are two brewers, which are inseparably connected with Amsterdam, but they have done nothing more here. The brewers that exist in this city, although are small compared to the giants, but definitely, they are worth that you discover them and try their beer. A good place to start looking and do the tasting, is De Bekeerde Suster, situated next to a canal in Amsterdam in a building with a long history of brewing. Meanwhile, the oldest brewery in Amsterdam, which is still in operation, is situated near the windmill and is called Brouwerij’t IJ. It was inaugurated in 1985 and it was part of a new wave, which caused an increase in the production of Dutch beer.
Besides all this, the traditional coffee (brown café) demonstrated its resilience and ability to survive to the delight of all lovers of this stimulating drink, but beer, of course, is the main product offered in bars. For something stronger, try the gin Jenever : the option jong is light and refreshing and the oud is stronger and with a specific aroma. Among the variety of bars and pubs in Amsterdam, you can also find special wine bars where you can enjoy an extensive wine list in the design environment and the first class cocktails prepared by the best bartenders in the Netherlands. We can only say Proost!
Some of the best bars we recommend visiting in Amsterdam are: Barco (Oosterdokskade street, 10), Bloemers (Hemonystraat, 70), Bubbles & Wines (street Nes 37) and the oldest bar in town is Café Chris (street Bloemstraat 42), which opened in 1642.
