This place is amazing! OH EMMM GEE! I can't even describe the flavors and spices that came out of our dish. My friend and I decided to have a late lunch, and thanking yelp for landing us here! We sat down and the owner pulled up a chair and sat right next to us, recommending dishes. They all sounded awesome, so we just went with the one most difficult to pronounce. We shared both dishes and we were in Latin heaven. My friend and I hated to let the remaining sauce go to waste. I just wanted to lick the sauce off the plate like a dog licks peanut butter off his lips. I can't wait to come back and try the bloody clams and other dishes. The place got very crowded just as we were leaving too.

I love seafood and enjoy the freshness of ceviche. I adore the Guatemalan style ceviche, Chapin (5 stars), that includes shrimp, crab, octopus, tomatoes, onions, avocado, mint, lime, and Worcestershire sauce. I'm used to cilantro as the primary ceviche herb that I loved the surprising addition of mint that really makes the Chapin memorable. Concha Negra (1 star) is a house favorite, but I just didn't like the bloody flavor of the clams. They serve their ceviche with tostadas and crackers. I also enjoyed the Aguachiles (4 stars) because of the simplicity and flavor combination of the shrimp in lime, cilantro, onions, garlic, and jalapeño. As long as you have cash and find parking, then it's good to stop for a seafood fix. They also had good looking fish tacos that I have yet to try. It seems like a popular spot, and the staff is very nice. If you want to add a spicier kick to your food, then ask for the habanero sauce even for your take out orders.

La Cevicheria is a quintessential Los Angeles hole-in-the-wall gem. From the outside, you'd never know it was there. It's just one of many random shops/restaurants on Pico Blvd. But when you step into the door into the admittedly tiny dining room, you're about to embark on a voyage of the senses. The ceviche here is incredible, fresh and flavorful and filling, with generous portions of ocean-y goodness. It's BYOB. So feel free to bring a stealthy bottle of beer to pair with your bloody clam ceviche.
