Carter Hick, PLLC sponsors 2017 Olympia PieFest

"Why Pie Fest? To benefit the Thurston County Food Bank, which served 52,000 people last year, half of them children, a 20% increase over 2015. That's why. "

The above-quotation was taken from the PieFest website. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Martindale-Hubbell gives Carter “AV Preeminent" status

Carter has again received an "AV," or "Preeminent," rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the nation's oldest peer review rating service. Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review ratings are an objective indicator of a lawyer's high ethical standards and professional ability, generated from evaluations by other members of the bar and the judiciary in the United States and Canada. AV Preeminent is a significant rating accomplishment - a testament to the fact that Carter's peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.

Carter attends "Fair and Impartial Policing" event

The Olympia Police Department and the Black Alliance of Thurston County sponsored this event, which took place on October 12, 2016. It was a good turn out and there seemed to be some real communication, which is good. The best thing about it was that nobody got shot.

Carter attends Arbutus Folk School Family Gathering

Arbutus Folk School just hosted its second annual Family Gathering on October 20, 2016. The event was supported by a number of local businesses and was a success! I love Arbutus. I took a rigid heddle loom weaving class over the summer, and will take a 2 day "Intro to Weaving on a Floor Loom" class this weekend!

Carter attends "Judicial Candidates Forum"

On October 18, 2016, the League of Women Voters of Thurston County (LWVTC) sponsored a forum for the Washington State Supreme Court candidates. Three of the sitting Justices are up for reelection, and all three are being challenged. True to form, the LWVTC, along with its partners, organized a great event. It was a wonderful opportunity for the public to hear from the candidates and to ask questions.

Carter Hick, PLLC sponsors local bicycle racing team in 2016

After more than 10 years of racing and riding with the local race team, CBC Racing, I am pleased to announce that I am finally in a position to be a sponsor!  Of course the dirty little secret behind "sponsoring" a bike racing team is that the sponsor is usually someone that is getting older, busier and . . . dare I say it, slower.  Oh well, nothing a little training can't help, and who better to train with than CBC Racing!  There are some pretty talented athletes on the team.

Carter Hick, PLLC sponsors 2016 Olympia PieFest

The Olympia Pie Bakers Guild is hosting its annual PieFest again, this time on February 27, 2016, from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm.  I am happy to have this event be one of the first events my new firm sponsors!  As you recall, the event is one part pie baking contest, one part pie eating extravaganza and one large part community fundraiser.  The final results go to benefit the Thurston County Food Bank and the Senior Services of South Sound's Senior Nutrition Program.
