Not impressed at all with the cupcakes. Sugar Plum bakery is still the BEST HANDS DOWN!

We used these people for an event. The owner and staff were rude and unhelpful. Don't waste your time and money with these people. The cupcakes should be wrapped in gold for what they charge for them, especially considering that they are dry and not satisfying. Also they were on cupcake wars, and I saw it on TV thinking they would be good, however that was TV/Carolina Cupcakery putting on a show for the quality/taste of their cupcakes. Horrendous service, waste of time and money taste and quality. And above all else - the owner herself and her rude daughter never get back to you in a timely manner ---> trust me when I say - Don't waste your time, energy and hard earned money on these people, especially when buying in bulk. Also p.s. how ironic the owner rated it a 6 to up her reviews - well here is your real rating and EVERYONE check out what people are saying about their Norfolk location.

I have tried a variety of cupcakes here, and while I like the regular varieties in the case I wanted to post a review about their vegan cupcakes. I am not vegan but I decided to try a vanilla vegan cupcake based on a suggestion from one of the employees. It was the best decision I've ever made! The vegan cupcakes are super-moist and taste DELICIOUS! You wouldn't even know that you were eating a 'healthier' version of their normal cupcakes. Even if vegan selections are not important to you, pleaseeee try a vegan cupcake if you visit Carolina Cupcakery! You'll be glad that you did.

CC saved the day!!! This past Saturday I was hosting a bridal shower for my future Daughter in Law only to find out the bakery I ordered my cupcakes from forgot my order. I had prepaid and was to pick them up Saturday morning. Needless to say I was in a panic and called CC. They were so very helpful and was able to have cupcakes ready for me before the shower. Everyone loved the cupcakes and thought they were delicious. Thank you again!!!

I didn't really like my creme brulee cupcake. I am not sure if I just haven't found the one yet. I hate to say it, but I have had the best and this is not it :(

I had a buy one get one free coupon from my entertainment book so I figured I would give it a try. I got a red velvet cupcake and a birthday cake cupcake. At $4 a cupcake they should taste amazing. I couldn't even eat the icing it was disgusting. My birthday cake flavor cake was ok but the red velvet was dryer than any cake I've ever had. I would suggest buying cupcakes from the grocery store. I guarantee they will taste a million times better.

Scouting out the bakeries when ever I go to an area is something fun I love to do. The trip here took my an hour out of my way but I've got to say it was worth it! The cupcakes are HUGE and for $3.25 a cupcake it's worth it. The do have a cupcake bar were they can make you a simpler cupcake fresh but I was more interested in the ones already made in the case. Though not the prettiest visually I've seen they taste is what lasts and the taste is sooooooooo good. The peanut butter icing they have on several variety of cupcakes is just heavenly. Not too sweet and not to thick. The the chocolate cake, particularly the one they use in the espresso cake. MOIST. Chocolate can end up dry sometimes but this is so good. My favorite so far. Other than the cupcakes it's a really nice atmosphere. Like coming into your friendly neighbor's who paints their walls in bright colors and recycles furniture. The attitudes were friendly and welcoming, definitely put a smile on our faces and full bellies! Oh and don't trust google maps it takes you into a neighborhood, with the last exit it gives you go into the shopping center, it's on the other side of Target.

My sons school doesn't allow us to send in goodies for class parties, so one of his teachers told me about this cupcake bakery. I ordered for the first time the other day and the cake was really good and moist (I got a few extra for myself), from scratch just like I do- and they attach an ingredient label it so I can send them in for parties. Other than the label, they were just like mine!
