There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Neil deGrasse Tyson ‏@neiltyson
There are three kinds of people in the world: those who know math and those who don't.

In the last few days, gun enthusiasts have pointed out and asked "If gun control works, what happened in China?".

Well, they survived.

just wondering....what if they did not survive the next time around? what if they were stabbed in their chest, heart or throat? does it matter if they were killed by a gun, a knife or a brick?

I found this book in a small guesthouse on Tongatapu. It was read to shreds. On a day of tropical storm I started leafing through it and was quickly completely transfixed. I read through the night. the following day I couldn't wait to get back to the book. I took the ragged book with me, leaving another in its place. All through the fligths home it kept my attention until the last pages I'd devoured. The movie makes me want to open those crumbling covers once again. And also makes me afraid of seeing it in cinemas - I could not imagine anyone being able to fit the entire story into 2 hours. It is too human.

Having just finished reading the book "Nothing to Envy", about the lives of regular people in North Korea, I think I'll go back to Laddering...
