Bragging rights
Survived a traumatic childhood (dog attack and sexual abuse), survived (and excaped!) both high school and college as a hard of hearing (going deaf) person, and so far surviving marriage and menapause. Looking forward to surviving old age (for a while) as well.

Attended several times. First just out of high school for all the general education courses and later just taking whatever courses interested me. Those included several computer courses, philosophy, business, and signing exact English. Unfortunately I don't remember much of it. They later expanded and changed the name to Arkansas Northeastern College.

Stats: the ongoing video battle between Facebook and YouTube

Who's winning? It's pretty tight, Global Web Index reports http://tgcafe.it/1WnQIt9.

Facebook remains top of the pile on traditional metrics such as membership and active usage, whereas YouTube takes the lead for visitation (those who have visited the site/app in any form during the last month).

There are a few PC components up for grabs too. Including a really nice GPU. You could use those to build your own rig.

Article says a huge reward is offered for any information about who did this.

If you haven't entered to win this computer yet, you should. If you are not into gaming, it would be great for multimedia too, or anything else. And you can win components or a neat game too.

Giving yourself permission is the hardest part. For some of us anyway.
Giving yourself permission to write is your biggest, most important step.

Getting AMP’d: What You Need To Know About Accelerated Mobile Pages & Google #SMX

A lot has been said about Google's new AMP project during this week's SMX West conference.

+Bruce Clay's team has done a great overview of two AMP-related keynote sessions: by +Dave Besbris of Google and +Paul Shapiro (http://searchwilderness.com/) - read their full post here http://tgcafe.it/1pqAUeF.

Here's how Google thinks about AMP:

The World Wide Web is about 20 years old. It’s a rich ecosystem with different media players, analytics systems, ad platforms.

The browser doesn’t know all that. It only knows that this is a script tag. There is a lot of redundant code — we see this a lot with analytics and ads.

Since the browser doesn’t understand this, the browser will jump around while uploading things. All of this is because the browser doesn’t understand the semantics of the page.

So AMP is to help the browser understand content in a content-forward way. AMP is implemented with straight-forward web technologies and the addition of a proxy cache.

Paul Shapiro talked a lot about the practical side of implementing AMP on your site. Read more about it in +Bruce Clay SEM post http://tgcafe.it/1pqAUeF, also a link to Paul's SlideShare presentation below.

And if you are thinking of playing with AMP Wordress plugins, definitely read +MaAnna Stephenson's overview of them first: http://tgcafe.it/1ozqTLA.

They have really good food and good service. The buffet has a large selection of foods that run from very spicy to very mild. I like that they do not always have exactly the same things. They put different items out every so often. The main popular dishes are always there but it isn't always exactly the same things.

The service was ok except that we called before we went to find out if they took local checks. The lady on the phone said yes but when we got there it turned out that they do NOT take checks. They need to train the workers better. This is the only place in town that I know of that serves boneless ribs and they are really really good! The vegetable fried rice...not so much. Egg rolls were good. Hubby said the Broccoli chicken was decent. So far that is all we have eaten there. It is a small place with only 5 tables inside. It is clean and smells really good in there. They do lots of take out and the lady told us that they deliver quite a way outside of the actual city. I haven't tested that yet. If I do I'll let you all know how that went.

This is the biggest Dollar General in Paragould. It has a lot more in it than the others. I really liked the clothing area...I found a few items in there that the others didn't have. It is pretty convenient too if you are not wanting to go downtown. The people there are nice and we always get in and out quickly.

I don't normally like Mexican food but the food here is good and their cheese sauce is to die for! The service is always fast and very good. The food is hot and they get it to you quickly. I'm still working my way through the menu, I have tried the taco salad, tacos, and burritos so far. All have been ok.

I love this little restaurant. They have great ribs and bbq. The bbq beans are really good and my hubby loves the Pinto beans. They also have good fish. The chicken fried steak and gravy is really good too. And they have green tomato pickles! The people are really nice and the service is good.

This is one of the few places in Paragould where you can get breakfast. I have only been in there for breakfast so far and it has been good every time. Thier omelets are really good and filling! The over easy eggs are good too. As are the bisquets and gravy. If you go on a weekend morning be prepared for a crowd and a wait. The one time I was in there on a Saturday morning it was packed.
