I struggled with how to write this review. He seemed so sure he could help me with my long-standing issues with lower back pain, I wanted to trust him. He gave me a discount for a first visit, which included acupuncture and massage. Based on the results of his assessment during that visit, he prescribed a bunch more visits and a big collection of herbal supplements to be taken a couple times a day. At each visit, it seemed like he was taking a shotgun approach, sticking me with needles almost all over my body, and then trying a different massage technique each time, which included actually walking on my back a couple of times. He was frequently behind schedule, missing staff, and leaving me on the table face down by myself for a half hour or more, with nothing going on. They talked me into a package deal of 12 visits for the price of ten, resulting in a per-visit price I could have duplicated by simply using the groupon. After the bunch of visits was done, they wanted my to sign up for a another package deal. By that time I was beginning to realize a couple of things: 1. After a brief initial improvement, I was sliding back into the feeling the way I did before, and that the acupuncture and herbal supplement treatments were primarily serving to confuse my nervous system enough that it was not feeling what was really going on. 2. There was apparently no end to what he was prescribing. He kept saying to come back two to three times a week, with nothing really improving any more (actually the opposite). The only thing changing was the amount of money in my bank account. 3. The routine was basically the same with minor variations each time: strip down and lay on the table and wait for 20 minutes or so for him to come in and hurriedly stick needles in me almost everywhere, wait another 20 minutes or so, an assistant comes in and takes the needles out and gives a brief massage and says, "I'll tell the doctor that you are ready", wait another 20 or so minutes, he comes in and hurriedly does something that may or may not be construed as massage. 4. I am now more than a thousand dollars poorer and back to where I started from: chronic lower back pain. What a waste of time and money.

I have suffered headaches my entire adult life - migraines, sinus, tension; lots of headaches. I decided to see Dr. Zhou during a 5 week headache at the recommendation of my massage therapist. I've been receiving acupuncture now for about 3 months and cannot say enough good things about Dr. Zhou and his team in Madison. I have been headache free and we are now working on tension in my jaw and neck. Very highly recommend for headache, neck/shoulder tension, jaw clenching. Way preferable to taking pills and way more effective.

I had chronic back pain which required large amounts of narcotics just so I could semi function. I decided to come and see Dr Zhou on a lark. I always thought that Acupuncture was not real medicine but I thought "what could it hurt?" After my first visit I was able to stop taking narcotics! My quality of life has sky rocket since seeing Dr Zhou! I highly recommend him!

60-minute deep tissue massage thorough Groupon. For $40, it seemed like a great deal. Before the massage began, I was asked about where there was pain and soreness and I mentioned my lower and upper back. I would say about 50% of the massage felt pretty good, except for he pressed so hard on my lower back that I left in more pain that I had come with. He mentioned it should feel better within 12 hours or so, but I woke this morning with bruises on my lower back from the pressure. I spent a good majority of the massage cringing in pain, hoping that the outcome would be worth it. It wasn't.

I sought treatment at Dr. Xiping Zhou’s Shorewood clinic in January 2015. I had fallen on the ice and broken my tibia the previous winter; even after a cast, a year of physical therapy, and increasingly strong drugs, I still experienced burning pain and stiffness. Reluctant to consider surgery, I sought alternate treatment. I am happy to report that I have much greater range of motion now (my physical therapist was amazed). I also sought treatment for exhaustion and GERD – with similar results. I am sleeping soundly, and I have not taken a prescription pill for pain or GERD in six months. Dr. Zhou is very compassionate and cares about his patients’ well-being, and I have great respect for him and his staff. I can’t wait to get back into the mountains to hike!

Great experience at Dr. Zhou's! Had cupping and acupuncture. Left feeling wonderful. Relaxed and stress free. Staff were incredibly friendly and Dr. Zhou was so knowledgeable and truly makes an art out of acupuncture. Highly recommend Dr. Zhou's Clinic.

I was referred to Dr Zhou by a friend who saw him a few years back. My 13 year old daughter was experiencing very painful nerve sensations that had completely immobilized her right foot. She was on crutches and in a boot for 2 months and inactive and out of sports for a total of 4 months. After 2 months of regular treatments and deep tissue massage, she is now pain free and back in basketball for the last 2 tournaments! We were treated with care and compassion and though challenging at times, patience and consistency won out. Thanks to Dr.Zhou and staff!

Therapist didn't seem too pleased to see me.... didn't go over the paperwork with me at all. Actual massage was okay. Slightly painful at the time but I feel pretty good afterward. I probably won't go back because the staff made me feel unwelcome.
