Atmosphere of the restaurant, very relaxing and elegant. Food was fabulous, every bite. Staff very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Nice touch the chef came out to say hallo and to thank us for coming. Also the owners spouse stopped by the table to say hallo and to make sure we were well taken care off. I give this place a 5 star rating. Will be going back again.

Went their for an anniversary dinner and they totally surprised us. Wait staff was on top of it by going beyond cordial. They gave excellent recommendations, service was fast and they even gave us personalized menus that we took with us to commemorate the evening. Enormous wine selection, wonderful display of food, and they even gave us samples of ceviche and dessert! We had the chicken and salmon, but of course had their famous pommes frites with truffle cream and fried chorizo stuffed gordal olives. We had the smores and cake but the presentation was a surprise. MK is now on my list for special occasions.

Came here over the weekend for my 29th Birthday. Service, Food, Atmosphere are all spot on. I would recommend to everyone. I am still thinking about the dinner we had and planning my next visit. MUST try the endive salad and blue crab toast if it is still on the menu but you cannot go wrong with whatever you order!

One word - WOW! I was utterly impressed with everything this restaurant has to offer. Reservations are highly recommended. I booked my reservation on Opentable and noted that it was my birthday dinner and requested a table on the second floor that overlooks the rest of the restaurant. Not only did they follow my request, but when I sat down at my table, there was a special menu that had "Happy Birthday Tom" on it. Although it was the wrong name on the menu, I was utterly touched. Our server was amazing (Julio). He was very attentive, continually checking on our progress during the entire dinner. We ordered the pommes frites with truffle cream (a must-have when visiting this restaurant), the red snapper, and bison (yes that's right, bison!). I had a raspberry mojito to drink and trust me, they don't skimp on the alchohol. Everything we ordered was excellent. The presentation and taste were amazing! When it was time to check out, I was surprised yet again when they brought out complimentary dessert. It was raspberry sorbet with chocolate drizzle...delicious. On my plate, they drizzled the words in chocolate 'Happy Birthday'. They were so nice to even give my bf a plate of dessert of his own. I can't say enough good things about this place. LOVE IT! It's a little pricey but that's why it's a great place when you feel like splurging.

There were three of us and we got there early and so sat in the bar area and had drinks served by very pleasant people. The hit was the "roundhouse kick". This isn't McDonald's, the food here is carefully prepared and the waits between courses were never tedious, perhaps it was the company. It is just on the edge of being crowded and little noisier than I would prefer. Now for the important part of this, the food. I'm new to the new American cuisine. Everything we had was beyond excellent. I have never eaten such satisfying food. We all tasted each others dishes and they were all stunning. The standout for me was my lobster and lobster roe/corn chowder. Could not ask for a better waiter. Of course at the end was the bill, not an insignificant sum; but this is more than just dining.

If you are looking for a low wait you should be looking elsewhere because reservations is really the only way to go to get in here in a timely manner. That should say one thing - great food! (Or slow service but in this case it's great food!) While I wouldn't say this is the most affordable spot for a bite to eat the prices are extremely fair for the quality you are getting as they could easily charge more for what they serve! (Seriously, if the owners are reading this I'm just kidding. Please don't raise your prices.) The staff was all extremely friendly, the presentation was top notch, and the flavors... Mouthwatering hardly seems to do it justice! Not only do they take care of you on a regular night but it feels that you get extra attention if it is for a special occasion (which seemed impossible after the amazing attention the first time I was there!) I highly recommend a visit here if you have a chance.

I probably will never be able to afford eating there again, but my experience at mk was incredible. Most importantly to me, the servers were really sweet and recognized that my boyfriend and I were there for a special occasion and did not know all the intricacies of fine dining. They were very polite and made sure we felt welcome. The food was spectacular, and they brought us a small sample of desert for no extra charge. If you're heading here for a special occasion, I recommend working with their staff to pick out flowers or a champagne toast. I was really happy when I discovered that the champagne toast wouldn't break my budget. Hopefully I can visit mk again some day!

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the city. High quality food that is surprisingly affordable, paired with some of the best service I have ever had. I last went to mk on my 30th birthday with five friends, and simply left a small note on the opentable reservation about the occasion. I was surprised with customized menus, two servers, and what felt like the constant arrival of small plates for us to sample various items in addition to our main dishes. Again the service is amazing, without feeling scripted in the manner of restaurants like L20 or Alinea. Should have received a Michelin star in my opinion.
