The Public Statement
Paragon Education Co. Ltd. has read articles published on various media platforms regarding Paragon International School (Cambodia) and Paragon International University (Cambodia) (formerly known as Zaman). We assert that all claims and concerns reveal no evidence and solid background.

It is our statement that we categorically reject the validity of all accusations. We once again invite the “accusers” to prove their claims by sharing the evidence, if there is any, with us and competent authorities.

We would like to reassure all parents, students, and stakeholders that there should be no concerns regarding the statements that have been made by individuals who have no firsthand knowledge on our operation.

We wish to reiterate that Paragon Education Co. Ltd. decided to change the names of all our schools for the purposes of re-branding to instill new vigour and energy to the next stage of our schools’ progression. The name change has been discussed and positively supported during various meetings involving students, parents, and stakeholders. Furthermore, it has been endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia.

Despite the fact that the schools are going through a new stage of development, there will be no adverse changes in the high quality of leadership and education, given that Madam Chairwoman, Sophakanny Chea, has been involved with all Paragon schools, since 2006, occupying various positions through the years: landowner (2006), majority shareholder (2016), and sole owner (present).

We affirm our confidence in Madam Chairwoman’s leadership abilities, given the following
accomplishments that have been made during her involvement with the schools since 2006:

• the school has been operating as a high-quality education institute for more than 20 years, with unquestionable dignity and honor,
• the institutions have never been involved indirectly or otherwise with any illegal or unlawful organization or group,
• the institutions have been and will continue to be routinely inspected by the relevant offices and departments,
• the institutions have always been recognized with success stories on national and international platforms,
• the institutions have repeatedly been acknowledged by the country officials as a result of their achievements.

Paragon Education Co. Ltd. would like to reiterate our commitment to providing the highest quality of education and services to students of all levels. We strive to equip our students with the skills and knowledge required to become responsible, mature, and global citizens in hopes of contributing to the development of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Paragon Education Co. Ltd. regrets that our educational institutions have been the subject of baseless discussion. The institutions under our company have always been and will continue to be in full compliance with national regulations and international standards. Unless any evidence is presented, all accusation is of no relevance.

Zaman International School’s Kindergarten Campus recently invited a group of dentists from the Roomchang Dental Hospital to talk to students about oral hygiene.

It is a well-known fact that it is of paramount importance to care for one’s teeth in a proper and thorough manner from when they first appear. Teeth are linked to a number of areas of the human body so ensuring they remain strong and healthy is essential.

Students enjoyed the way the dentists relayed these important messages to them and a lively and informative session ensued. Pupils were given the opportunity to ask questions and even practise brushing their teeth with the assistance of the professionals, which all made for an even more effective learning experience.

Students and teachers from Zaman International School’s Kindergarten Campus recently gathered in the garden to do some exercise and even got the opportunity to try Zumba, the popular aerobic fitness programme.

Everyone had fun and it was all in the name of a ‘fit and healthy’ lifestyle as the School believes it is never too early to get students active and enjoying new forms of physical activity.

The campus’ grounds were the ideal setting for such endeavours and the afternoon was very social as students also got the chance to mix with their peers from other grades.

Prominent School states its ambitions with bold name change and rebranding exercise

Zaman International School, one of Phnom Penh's most elite educational institutions, has announced a change of name which will see it become Paragon International School (Cambodia).

The decision has been officially announced by its honourary chairman, H.E. Eang Sophalleth, whose wife, Lok Chumteav Chea, is the school's chairwoman and, also just announced, has become sole proprietor of its three campuses as well as Zaman University.

Since her acquirement of the institution in full the Board felt that a rebranding exercise was required to bring new vigour and energy to the next stage of its journey.

After a lengthy period of consultation each member of the Board agreed Paragon International School (Cambodia) was the right fit in terms of the message the School wishes to portray. The university will be known as Paragon International University (Cambodia).

The School remains a bilingual place of education where students are able to study both an international and Khmer programme. The revered Cambridge examinations are taken by students who take international classes while the National Curriculum is adhered to for the School’s local classes.

Evidence of its continuing ambitions was made evident with the announcement of a new campus now past the preliminary stages of planning. It is set to offer even more students an opportunity to benefit from the exceptional education the School offers.

As always the focus of the School’s management will remain on giving students the top education the institution has become known for in a safe and happy environment. The School will continue in its commitment to charity and serve its local community whenever it can.

This academic school year’s first parenting seminar finally arrived on Zaman International School’s (ZIS) Primary Campus and the thought-provoking topic was ‘Developing Emotional Intelligence in Children’.

Parents from all campuses attended and, due to the importance of the issues which were under discussion, an atmosphere of great intrigue immediately prevailed.

Mrs Jennet Omarova, Vice-Principal and Student and Staff Welfare Coordinator on the Primary Campus, was the speaker and was coherent and passionate in her message. She went into great detail about the different styles of parenting and their effects when dealing with the development of emotional intelligence in children.

In order to get everyone involved Ms Jennet asked those in attendance to discuss the matters under the spotlight in groups and these exercises seemed to be thoroughly productive as they took place.

At the end of the seminar, and once the group discussions had taken place, a short role-play performance was carried out by several primary teachers regarding styles of parenting related to the emotional intelligence of children.

All those who participated seemed to gain from the experience and ZIS thanks all those who attended and helped organise the event.

Zaman International School (ZIS) will always seek to align itself with the most revered and reputable organisations in
international education.

Its association with CIS (Council of International Schools) means there are many ways teachers and students can benefit, not least from the programmes and seminars it offers to improve all areas of teaching practice as well as school management. Staff on the ZIS senior and middle leadership teams have recently taken up some of the opportunities the School’s CIS membership allows for.

Two members of Head Office have just returned from Bangkok after a Leadership Career and Recruitment Conference with
renewed enthusiasm and exciting ideas, while welfare coordinators from the Primary and Secondary campus are currently in that city and
the nation’s northern municipality Chiang Mai to attend seminars on the important issues surrounding child protection.
