I came here not expecting much, as there are so many amazing restaurants in Austin and you kind of figure that 'well, if I haven't heard of it by now it's probably no big deal.' I was dead wrong with this place. First of all, the corn tortillas are hand-made and so good that they make me actually like corn tortillas. The drinks were delicious and the coffee marinated steak tacos changed my whole feeling about tacos. The fish tacos were the only thing that even compared to the rest and a great starting point for my feast. The outdoor patio was all lit up with lights for the holidays and a band plays on Friday nights to set the mood. I will definitely be back.

Great place for dinner on the weekends. Watermelon jalapeño margarita, tacos and quesadilla are delicious! They've got a fancy twist on traditional tex mex that is truly delicious. The live music is a great compliment.

iEs muy fantastico! Have had lunch here three times, and felt the quality and value were superb. First class restaurant. Very interesting and tasty food, nicely presented, well worth the parking hassles.

Food is good, but the portion size is really small. Had a groupon and went on Monday night (happy hour all night), so managed to get a good meal without breaking the bank. Spent only $35, which was a great deal. Without the discounts though, the meal would have been almost $100. And that was for 2 people with only one margarita each. The nacho apps are four individual chips for $10! It was good, but not that good. Worth maybe $5, and that's stretching it!

If you are looking for TEX MEX come here. If you are looking for authentic, DONT come here. The outdoor deck area is beautiful as it sits right by Shoal Creek. The atmosphere is great and drink prices arent bad but we were certainly disappointed with the food.

Garrido's has a beautiful, central location right on a creek full of greenery, which makes for an idyllic atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the happy hour prices are great. But the main draw is the creative Mexican fusion menu. Tex-Mex and even some Hawaiian flavors going on. Good stuff!

Garrido's is a compact, well-decorated and cool venue to sample some of the better modern Mexican cuisine in Austin. The 3 course brunch is popular at weekends and the Happy Hour drinks and appetizer specials are a hit any day of the the week. While service can slow down during busy periods, you won't necessarily care if you get seated on the patio in temperate weather. Don't miss the margaritas and don't be afraid to speak up if you're vegetarian or vegan since the kitchen seems to accommodate these off-menu requests easily.

Garrido's used to be great but now it's just okay. They changed their menu and my last meal was cold and rather mushy. Oh well. Cool atmosphere.
