Really lovely folks working here. Super helpful and eager to please, and more importantly they are very knowledgeable. Wonderful neighborhood shop chock full of tongs of things for it's size.

Every employee there is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. This place is SO much better than Home Depot or any other hardware store in Miami that the others just don't even rate in comparison. Need unusual wood? Shell's your place. Need a door you can't get "on the floor" at the big stores? Shell just might have it. And their prices are often LOWER than Home Depot's. I just wish they were a little closer to my home. If so, I'd do ALL my lumber and hardware shopping there.

What a wonderful neighborhood store. Besides having EVERYTHING a hardware store should have, they're so nice and helpful. Today I went in to buy a packing box, and instead of selling me one, they found a free used carton, helped me pack my xmas presents, gave me a bag of packing peanuts, NO CHARGE. Just a neighborly act of good will. They won me over.

Good service but sundays, the HD is the only choice for shopping. Would be nice if it was open on sundays.

These guys are awesome.. they have a ton of friendly/helpful employees on the floor, ready and willing to help you. Lots of marine/epoxy products too, in case you're a DIYer. If I had one "complaint", it would be that their selection of electrical stuff is lacking. They don't have any of the large blade-type automotive fuses (i.e. the 40 or 50 amp type), and the battery terminals they sell are tiny made-in-china pieces that you'd never want hooked up to anything that needed to be reliable. Also they only have a handful of cables sold by the foot.. 8/10/12/14 ga. marine-rated cables, if I remember correctly. Home Depot will take care of you in that regard, anything from like 4 gauge all the way up to 18.

Needed a "Front Door" rated "Post Andrew." My insurance wouldn't credit my home's "Hurricane Shutters" until I replaced the front door?! I called Home Depot, waited 2 weeks for someone to come out to measure the size of my front door. I've since found it's a "standard door"... That was in January 2013, in March my husband received a call that they were ready! He went there pen, and cash in hand, but wound up waiting over an hour and a half, and said "I've got to get to a clients, so FAX the paperwork to me." IT's November, and we've still not received the FAX?! He instead stopped at Shell Lumber later that day, and spoke to "Sales" ordered the door, had it "drop shipped" and his salesman even recommended an installer "Tom Roh!" Shell is NOW our default Hardware store! We both would rather drive a few minutes more, and talk to the staff there that's always helpful. Thanks for your assistance with this matter. Your Customer, Susi

Shell Lumber - what can I say . . . . . they have the best selection of almost everything, but if only the public knew how they treated their employees. turn over is at an all time high.(slave drivers). always seem to be getting code violations also. That place is a ticking time bomb - I feel sorry for the neighbors. Paul one of the owners is the biggest prick you can ever want to meet. wanna pick a fight just walk in there and ask for that bozo. David, the "hardware manager" is another bimbo - real shame since they have awesome products! They also have the largest selection of gay / lesbians under one roof - really - check them out
