Thank you all for the last amazing 24hours! Depthy was poked around by 60k people, did +reddit and HackerNews first pages, a couple of technology portals including +Android Authority and an unknown number of shares on G+, Twitter and Facebook.
Quite good for a quick hack done in a dozen hours on easter, a couple of G+ posts (where I was not active - it will change i guess) and a single XDA post on monday midnight.
Plus some kind words from the LensBlur author on my email today to top it up.

But it's not the end, there are features to make, photos to shoot and some sites to conquer. I'm looking at You +Engadget ;)

Google is using depth maps…coincidence?
Google launches Lens Blur in the new camera app - The biggest advantages of SLR cameras over camera phones is the ability to achieve shallow depth of field and bokeh effects. While Shallow depth of field makes the object of interest "pop" by bringing the foreground into focus and de-emphasizing the background. Achieving this optical effect has traditionally required a big lens and aperture, and therefore hasn’t been possible using the camera on ...

from what i gather that was a PR stunt for some ad agency http://www.cpbgroup.com/ that can't even put together a website properly. the nominating panel was largely ignored. look at the finalists, it's almost all brand shit. don't let it get to you, it's not as if there was merit to their awards. p sure ppl saw through that when the finalists were revealed and there was an ad in every 3rd image.
