Looking at our new book cover, can you guess what kinds of stories are in the book? Make your guesses in the comments.*
Here we are - time for the big cover reveal of the first ever anthology produced by the Anthology Club - and I can't help but feel like I'm doing this wrong.
Conventional wisdom says I should have been drumming up interest in the cover all week; playing coy, dropping hints, that sort of thing. I don't think I should have to do that, to be honest. Why do I need to drum up interest in this book cover, when this book cover is interesting in its own right?
Instead of a lame attempt to market this book (and it would be lame, I'm terrible at that sort of thing), I'll just tell you about it.
"Soul of the Universe" is the first anthology published by the Anthology Club. The title derives from the Plato quote, "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." All the stories in the anthology were inspired to some degree by music.
This cover was commissioned from a young artist named Kit Cooper, who was given the theme, "Music is the soul of the universe" and nothing else, and was then asked to interpret that theme. I may be biased, but I think Kit did an incredible job of that interpretation. I love this cover as much as I love the book it represents.
"Soul of the Universe" will be available for purchase on March 18th. Kit's other work can be found at http://rogueheartillustration.tumblr.com/
