Are you in the UK? More importantly, is your Amazon Kindle account in the UK?

If it is, you should really pick up a copy of Soul of the Universe now while it's on sale for £0.99. It's 6 stories by 4 authors in a grab bag of styles and genres. Well worth it, in my opinion*.

You can get it at https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IYP4ATK.

*I may be biased.

This might be of interest to both readers and writers.

For the readers, the Anthology Club's first anthology came out the other day. It's a 6 story, 4 author collection that includes science fiction, western, emotional drama, fantasy and steampunk all under one cover. Reviews thus far have been very, very positive. That's at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IYP4ATK

For the writers, the Anthology Club is a collaborative community for writers of short fiction that provides the tools necessary for those writers to propose, produce and publish anthologies. You can check it out at http://anthologyclub.com.

If you need a good chuckle, we've also got a very refined and restrained book trailer at http://youtu.be/gwNC_R545sE. I think it should serve as a model for writers everywhere who are trying to promote their work.

Enjoy.

I can't seem to find the words to express my excitement over this... which is probably a bad recommendation of myself as a writer, but there you go.

Looking at our new book cover, can you guess what kinds of stories are in the book? Make your guesses in the comments.

*

Here we are - time for the big cover reveal of the first ever anthology produced by the Anthology Club - and I can't help but feel like I'm doing this wrong.

Conventional wisdom says I should have been drumming up interest in the cover all week; playing coy, dropping hints, that sort of thing. I don't think I should have to do that, to be honest. Why do I need to drum up interest in this book cover, when this book cover is interesting in its own right?

Instead of a lame attempt to market this book (and it would be lame, I'm terrible at that sort of thing), I'll just tell you about it.

"Soul of the Universe" is the first anthology published by the Anthology Club. The title derives from the Plato quote, "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." All the stories in the anthology were inspired to some degree by music.

This cover was commissioned from a young artist named Kit Cooper, who was given the theme, "Music is the soul of the universe" and nothing else, and was then asked to interpret that theme. I may be biased, but I think Kit did an incredible job of that interpretation. I love this cover as much as I love the book it represents.

"Soul of the Universe" will be available for purchase on March 18th. Kit's other work can be found at http://rogueheartillustration.tumblr.com/

The sharing of the heart and soul of music which is dreamed and imagined and translated into words allowing the musicless hearts access to The Soul Of The Universe.

(How's that for a run on sentence? )

We should have ARCs of Soul of the Universe ready to go in the next few days. Is anyone interested in reviewing the Anthology Club's first ever anthology?

If you're willing to provide an honest review - on Amazon, Goodreads, Smashwords, your blog, or any combination of those - just comment here with your info (name, email, and preferred format please), PM the The Anthology Club page, or email your details to reviews@anthologyclub.com and I'll set you up with a copy in your preferred format.

EDIT: The object may have been the S-IVB third stage of the Apollo 12 Saturn V rocket.

If anyone knows of a book club that might be interested in reading a multi-genre, e-book only anthology, please put them in touch with me. I have one of those.

I am on the prowl for blogs that feature fiction.

I do  (or used to do) a regular piece on my blog called the "Other Blog Spotlight" where I would feature another writer's blog, specifically one where the writer shares stories - usually flash fiction.

If you have such a blog, or know of one, please let me know about it with a comment.
