You learn something new every day.
Google's resident search anthropologist, Dan Russell, dropped this incredible statistic on us. And no, he couldn't believe it either.

Amazon's tax benefits in AZ irk small businesses: Changing Hands must charge customers 10% sales tax while Amazon (with 3 distribution centers and planning a 4th) claims it has no business presence in the state.

Amazon is opening two facilities here in Chattanooga. The state agreed to many "no tax" concessions, which treat local established businesses unfairly, but are now [possibly] trying to renege on the agreement. They must have already reached some agreement behind the scenes, though, because Amazon continues to build and to prepare for the employment of over 2000 employees, unlike what happened in the Carolinas, recently, where they pulled up stakes entirely when the state backed out of the tax concessions originally promised..

"Book publishers used to struggle mightily to conceal an author’s errors; publishers existed to hide those mistakes, some might say. But lately the vigilance of even the great houses has flagged, and typos are everywhere...."

Do any of you make cold-brew coffee? What kind of coffee do you like? Haven't loved my last two choices (Starbucks Sumatra; Tully's House). Used to use a yummy mocha java, but can't find it this summer.

I love cold-brew coffee, but I'm afraid I can't help you with beans -- we either roast them ourselves or buy from our local roaster.

Print's not superior for all things, but for me, for the NYT-- yes.
"I wasn't recalling as much of the newspaper as I should be. Going electronic had punished my powers of retention. I also noticed that I was unintentionally ignoring a slew of worthy stories."
