<al1nux> hello, i have installed latest edge firmware but my extruder motor is not extruding now.
<arthur-_> al1nux: how old was the previous firmware ?
<arthur-_> ( did you read the upgrade notes ? )
<al1nux> not sure bro
<al1nux> so what changed ?
<arthur-_> things change from time to time
<arthur-_> if you know how old your old firmware was you can figure out if something changed for you
<arthur-_> you need to figure that out, and read the upgrade notes
<al1nux> whats the point of the channel
<al1nux> this board changes like every second
<al1nux> the doc is a big mess
<al1nux> i dont know why i even bought this seriously
<al1nux> thanks for nothing
<al1nux> i wish i never paid money to support this, i bought 3 boards
<al1nux> this is the answer i get ?

Wow, that guy is completely delusional ...
It's also incredibly obvious from the video that this is stemming from him being butthurt at not being given a free printer, which just makes things even worse.
That guy just doesn't get what Reprap is about ...
Similar things have happened to the Smoothie project in the past, I feel your pain, +Josef Prusa

[...] We are using the [smoothie]board in a 3D Refabricator (plastic printer) aboard the International Space Station. For what it’s worth, you can tell your customers that your contribution is helping NASA make deep space exploration a possibility by developing technologies for in-situ fabrication and repair of tools and structures.

Recently I taught a few hours-long class at the local Fablab, basically a "beginner's how to intro" to Smoothieboard for 3D printing ( in French ).

Mostly just went over the 3D printer guide with lots of extra comments.

I'm thinking I could do a similar thing in English over the Internet, as a livestream. People have been asking for something like this, and the recording of the livestream could ( if it's not too terrible ) be added to the documentation.

Would you watch ? Have ideas of how to organize it ? Have ideas of how to make sure people watch it live/how to promote it ?

Thanks :)

Smoothieboard v2-mini engraving the Open-Source Hardware logo :

Jim is making awesome progress on the v2 firmware. Still a ton of features lacking, but basic machining is there, this is really cool progress.

Ooooh, v2 is finally square ! This is something I tried very hard to make happen for v1 but it didn't, looks like my wish is coming for v2 :) Precisely 100x100mm distance for the fixation holes too, that's one question that'll be easy to answer when people will ask all the time :)
