Would love your thoughts on this ... Mattel has a Linkedin Page for "Entrepreneur Barbie." Does this fit with the culture of the network? Seems to have a fair share of engagement so perhaps people are ok with a "character" page. 

Remembering GourmetStation's T Alexander blog circa 2005 that started a firestorm  in the blogosphere, led by some high profile bloggers, because TA was not a 'real person.'

During my time heading social media at Cox Media Group I had the pleasure of working with some great folks. There was one special journalist, from the Bay Area at KTVU, that was an inspiration when it came to understanding the importance of social media, how to build community and the critcal nature of engagement. 

Today Frank Somerville topped 100K likes, in fact as of this moment he has 101.2k. However, as we know Likes without engagement is a bunch of numbers; it is not community it does not lead to loyalty. Even more impressive is the extent of community engagement that Frank as fostered.  

How did he do it? Why did he do it? And how does it relate back to the brand? I ask you to click and watch an interview Frand kindly did for a CMG social media summit that my team and I put together last fall. Any brand, media or not, can benefit.
