Mozilla has reached a pretty good middle ground on DRM: an open source sandbox for in/out to a DRM module. Details: http://andreasgal.com/2014/05/14/eme/

#FirefoxOS phones just shipped in Mexico on América Móvil! Many hands went into this launch; exciting to work w/ a big operator like AMX https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/05/13/america-movil-launches-firefox-os-smartphones/

http://blog.sethladd.com/2014/05/i-ported-javascript-app-to-dart-heres.html ... skip to Lessons Learned. Interesting to me was that Dart offers no new primitives that you can't already achieve in JavaScript with code conventions or wrapper libraries.

You could maybe argue that Dart's import primitive is one but the benefits of importing (tells you where a file is, where a variable comes from) can be acquired by RequireJS's define/require convention too.

If you build an Android webapp it not only installs as an APK you can now also use Web Activities to hook into other Android apps http://blog.joshdover.com/post/84518525183/launching-android-intents-from-firefox-webapps This is a major milestone in making web apps feel like native Android apps. The user still needs Firefox installed on their Android device though.

If you haven't used Firefox in a while, give the new version a try. It has sexy curved tabs! But, for real, it performs really well now and is efficient with memory when you have lots of tabs open. I switch between Firefox and Chrome but keep coming back to Firefox as my main browser.. This is what Time says: http://time.com/72632/the-best-web-browser/

I hear people claiming Google+ died because it didn't support RSS: facepalm. Uh, no.

Who knows why.

One major problem with G+ is it doesn't syndicate to FB/Twitter. If you look at Instagram, I think syndication is a big part of its popularity. You have to bootstrap new networks; you can't do it by forcing programmers to use them (that just gets you a homogenous network of techies).

I really don't know why G+ never took off. I think the interface is pretty nice, the iOS app is great. Everything looks and feels nice.
