"People who are very aware that they have more knowledge than the average person are often very unaware that they do not have one-tenth of the knowledge of all of the average persons put together. In this situation, for the intelligentsia to impose their notions on ordinary people is essentially to impose ignorance on knowledge….What is politically defined as economic "planning" is the forcible superseding of other people's plans by government officials….It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

Oh, but they feel bad.  And their reputations suffer.

Oh, wait.  They don't always -- and they feel better later.

Oh, wait.  And failing in government very rarely causes reputation loss -- for the ones responsible for those decisions.

"LOL...yeah, you picked 1986 to break from the British Empire; when there was nothing left of it.
Lots of testosterone, that took."
And that's a registered, armed, and military trained petulant, sanctimonious, ignoramus with a 134 IQ, you bogan.

Trump won't and neither will Hillary.  He's not smart enough and she's too smart for her iron girdle.

“I am not surprised that the two-party political establishment wants to keep the American people from having a third choice,”Trump said [in 2000]. “It’s amazing that they can get away with it.”
When Donald Trump was a political outsider, he wanted the debate stage opened up to alternative viewpoints. Now he wants it kept more exclusive.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/435704/gary-johnson-libertarian-party-2016-conservatives

"When Johnson took the tiller in New Mexico in 1995, the budget stood at $4.397 billion. When he left in 2003, it had grown to $7.721 billion, an increase of 7.29 percent a year. Of the eleven governors who filed to run for president this year (two Democrats, Johnson, and eight Republicans), only one had a worse record on spending growth. In New Mexico, Bill Richardson, Johnson’s Democratic successor, clocked in a little better than he did, but Richardson’s successor, Susana Martinez, has shown what a fiscal conservative looks like: New Mexico currently spends less than it did when she took office. It’s not just at a state level that being more fiscally conservative than Johnson is a bipartisan achievement. Federal spending during the time Johnson was in office grew at an average annual rate of 4.49 percent. Late Clinton and early Bush weren’t as successful in their efforts to fight spending cuts as they might have been, but Johnson makes them look like Coolidge, and federal spending since then has grown at an average annual rate of 4.56 percent."

Savage.

Take your pick?  That's a joke.  The country will come out no better, regardless.

Once upon a time, Philadelphia was the wellspring of what became the model for freedom for the world.

Now, it's just another statist failure with a massive education budget deficit, trying to tax its way to prosperity instead of taking an honest look at its underperforming educational system, ranked 29th - below Missouri, Florida and North Carolina - in the nation.
Looking to raise millions for a bold expansion of early childhood education, Philadelphia City Council on Thursday approved a 1.5-cent-per-ounce tax on sugar-sweetened and diet beverages, the first such tax imposed in a major U.S. city.

Typical, hysterical, over-the-cliff reaction from overeducated ignoramuses:

Political scientist and columnist Ian Bremmer contemplated, "Brexit is the most significant political risk the world has experienced since the Cuban Missile Crisis."

Oh yeah, we're on the verge of nuclear conflict once again. Move that Doomsday Clock minute hand to 11:59 PM !
Reporters around the world were left terrified, heartbroken and angry over the vote in the United Kingdom to withdraw from the European Union. No words. The dream is over. Britain has voted to fall into the sea. This is the end, Fusion's Felix Salmon opined on social media. I despair. This is not my England. I feel like there's been a death in the family. There needs to be some kind of funeral, he added. U.K. journalist Oliver Bullough despaired,...

Im sorry. But i believe that the idea of a world government is a bad one. I dont believe globalization is a good idea. The eu is an attempt to bring a large part of the western world under one government. If it was sicessfull the us would have followed suit. There are simply to many different peoples and different ideologies on this planet for us to all thrive under a single government or set of laws. The only reason anybody in power wants this is because it would concentrate even more power in thier hands.

"Clear and present danger" means that for as long as he deems necessary, President Obama can incarcerate Mr. Trump without charge. So, what's the hold up?

Perhaps not so "present" or "clear" but at least "future" and "potential," given Mr. Trump's sporadic issues positions.

Sur-PRIIIIISE!

Okay, not really.  The punch line is that in a couple more years, Medicare will again be projected to run out of money sooner than expected..
"Medicare faces a substantial, long-term shortfall," Treasury Secretary Jack Lew says.

2016 keeps taking down big names, young and old.  May they rest in peace.
Actor Anton Yelchin, perhaps best known for his role in the new “Star Trek” films, died early Sunday after his vehicle rolled down his Studio City driveway and trapped the actor against a brick post, authorities confirmed.

These folks have deservedly earned my business; especially Matthew, the luthier. The staff is always responsive, helpful and knowledgeable.

My vehicle was disabled in the early morning hours of the Fourth of July. Sun State got it to their yard in the same condition in which it was at the scene, put it under shade in their secured yard and were helpful and cordial when we went to get things out. I will recommend SunState Towing any time, hopefully under better circumstances. My thanks to you and your staff!

On May 21, 2013, we went as a party of 8 at about 1:30 P.M. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table in this small restaurant/bar tucked well out of the way, just past a number of Key Deer on Big Pine Key. The menu is typical American, including delicious pizza and seafood, of course, with a nice option: the Pub's own amber, available in a souvenir glass. The food was prompt, served hot and our plates all arrived together - our server was attentive, friendly and conscientious. The building is rustic, having started as a general store over 80 years ago (it also served as a bordello). The most interesting part of the Pub is the decor, which is manily comprised of approximately 150,000 dollar bills, stapled to the walls and ceilings by visitors. Expect to spend about $25.00 per person, which is not out of line for the Florida Keys. The highlight was saying hello to a Key Deer on our way out. The ratings are on a scale from greasy spoon to fine dining.
