"People who are very aware that they have more knowledge than the average person are often very unaware that they do not have one-tenth of the knowledge of all of the average persons put together. In this situation, for the intelligentsia to impose their notions on ordinary people is essentially to impose ignorance on knowledge….What is politically defined as economic "planning" is the forcible superseding of other people's plans by government officials….It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

Oh, but they feel bad.  And their reputations suffer.

Oh, wait.  They don't always -- and they feel better later.

Oh, wait.  And failing in government very rarely causes reputation loss -- for the ones responsible for those decisions.

The Founding Fathers Were Libertarians

In the 1760s, the British government imposed a series of new taxes while rejecting the American argument that any new taxes had to be approved by the people. Tax resistance, especially the Boston Tea Party (1774), led to punitive laws by Parliament designed to end self-government in Massachusetts. American Patriots (as they called themselves) adhered to a political ideology called republicanism that emphasized civic duty, virtue, and opposition to corruption, fancy luxuries and aristocracy.

Republicanism is the guiding political philosophy of the United States. It has been a major part of American civic thought since its founding. It stresses liberty and unalienable individual rights as central values, making people sovereign as a whole, rejects monarchy, aristocracy and inherited political power, expects citizens to be independent in their performance of civic duties, and vilifies corruption. American republicanism was founded and first practiced by the Founding Fathers in the 18th century.

Republicanism is a type of democracy, but if protected by a Bill of Rights, may be distinguished from other forms of democracy as a Bill of Rights asserts that each individual has unalienable rights that cannot be voted away by a majority of voters.

Today, neither the Democrat or the Republican parties embrace republicanism. Libertarianism is the closest thing we have to the original republicanism of the Founding Fathers.

For whom to vote? To quote Rodney Wordsworth: "I am a very rich man...I have such a luxury of choices."
Newly released emails from Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state raise questions about the nature of the department's relationship with the Clinton Foundation.

As a democrat, I chose Trump from the Day he announced his running for President. I never ever "got" Hillary Clinton. I just never got her shtick. We've all know of her for 25 years now. What has she done? And isn't there anyone new and fresh that would run besides her?
Donald a Trump will be perfect and far more interesting to watch deal with things.

Hillary goes "Full Flop" on Trans Pacific Partnership
Since the start of her 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton hasn’t taken a strong position on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal -- saying she would reserve judgment until the deal was finalized. Well, the negotiations recently came to a close, and Clinton promptly announced that she opposes the deal.

Steve Reddit has probably never been to Anthony's. I live less than 2 miles from the place and have been there about twice a month since it opened. There has been one less-than-excellent experience and the inside is nothing special but the food and service are great.

These folks have deservedly earned my business; especially Matthew, the luthier. The staff is always responsive, helpful and knowledgeable.

On May 21, 2013, we went as a party of 8 at about 1:30 P.M. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table in this small restaurant/bar tucked well out of the way, just past a number of Key Deer on Big Pine Key. The menu is typical American, including delicious pizza and seafood, of course, with a nice option: the Pub's own amber, available in a souvenir glass. The food was prompt, served hot and our plates all arrived together - our server was attentive, friendly and conscientious. The building is rustic, having started as a general store over 80 years ago (it also served as a bordello). The most interesting part of the Pub is the decor, which is manily comprised of approximately 150,000 dollar bills, stapled to the walls and ceilings by visitors. Expect to spend about $25.00 per person, which is not out of line for the Florida Keys. The highlight was saying hello to a Key Deer on our way out. The ratings are on a scale from greasy spoon to fine dining.

My vehicle was disabled in the early morning hours of the Fourth of July. Sun State got it to their yard in the same condition in which it was at the scene, put it under shade in their secured yard and were helpful and cordial when we went to get things out. I will recommend SunState Towing any time, hopefully under better circumstances. My thanks to you and your staff!
