Registration is open for Vision UK 2017: Shaping Futures
Registration is now open for Vision UK 2017: Shaping Futures on Thursday 15 June 2017 at the QEII Centre, London.

'Shaping Futures' will feature a series of talks, case studies and panel discussions that will inspire action, collaboration and creative thinking to deal with the changing social, economic and political environment the eye health and sight loss sectors operate in now and in the future.

We will hear about how other collaborative initiatives are leading the way in changing public attitudes and championing self-advocacy, as well as how the eye health and sight loss sectors are successfully working together and bringing about change that creates a future inclusive for all.

VISION 2020 UK, the umbrella organisation which leads collaboration in eye health and sight loss, has today launched a podcast. This new platform will look at the major topics of interest within the eye health and sight loss sector, with expert analysis, opinion and debate. The podcast is an educational forum for professionals, service users, carers as well as those with no knowledge of the topics.

Hosted by John Welsman, Guide Dogs Policy Business Partner, the podcasts will be released on a monthly basis and will focus on one topic or interview per episode, highlighting the work of the VISION 2020 UK Standing Committees, as well as discussions with leaders in the sector on topics such as rehabilitation, dementia, children and certification. http://www.vision2020uk.org.uk/vision-2020-uk-launches-eye-health-sight-loss-podcast/

VISION 2020 UK launches Starting Point – first steps for families of vision impaired children.

VISION 2020 UK, the umbrella organisation which leads collaboration in eye health and sight loss, has marked World Sight Day with a rollout of a national project, aimed at improving the information given to families at the point of diagnosis of their child’s vision impairment.

VISION 2020 UK call for nominations for the Astbury Award 2016.

VISION 2020 UK, the umbrella organisation which leads collaboration and co-operation between organisations with an interest in eye health and sight loss, are calling for nominations for the Astbury Award, named for former VISION 2020 UK Chair and inaugural recipient Nick Astbury.

The VISION 2020 UK Astbury Award is given in recognition of work that fosters excellence in collaboration within the eye health and sight loss sectors.
