    Graduated with dual Bachelor of Arts degree in both communications and History. Graduated with departmental honors in both majors. Wrote an honors thesis titled "Swapping Stories with Slackers: The folklore of Generation X" which explored how urban legends of the past changed and morphed into new versions to reflect the angst and trends of the current generation of youth.

Introduction
Joan Goodchild drives the editorial strategy for CSO Magazine and CSOonline.com. She writes frequently about security leadership, social engineering, social media security and cybercrime.

Her previous experience in business journalism includes roles as broadcast and web editor with the Boston Business Journal and as a news writer with TechTarget. Prior to that, she worked as a television reporter and anchor for more than a decade at stations in Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont.

She is the recipient of an Edward R. Murrow award and a Scripps Howard National Journalism award, both for investigative reporting, and has a Master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
