Last pre-blizzard vegetable harvest. Kale and rosemary. Carrots are re-mulched and covered in a thick plastic bell cover. The Rosemary will doubtless survive the storm, however, so most of that is still in the ground. Amazing that the kale survived the ice storm on Wednesday.

Does anyone understand this "Incoming" stream? https://plus.google.com/stream/incoming because the wording of it is confusing. How the heck do you 'share' with people who aren't in your circles in such a way that they can view the posts on the "incoming" stream without adding you to one of their circles? I am mightily confused by this.

I don't remember what the current price is. I know we get both DVD and streaming, so I guess this means our bill will be increasing.
CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Netflix Inc. said Tuesday that it would no longer offer unlimited plans that include both streaming and DVDs by mail. Users must now either subscribe to a stream-only plan, a...

yep.. I don't think that price hike is justified when I usually find old movies on streaming.. and the new movies on DVD can take awhile..

The heat index was 105 F / 40 C at National Airport at 4 pm. That means even hotter inside the city, because the airport is right by the water.

+Darian Lewis - your new TV is definitely eavesdropping.

+Darian Lewis - don't worry, they won't die from autumn blooming!
Santa Claus is coming soon. So why are we still seeing cherry blossoms in D.C.? Temperatures aren't just above normal, they're way above normal. That's because the cold weather can't get to our reg

The article doesn't say why the drug companies have decided "to discontinue making some medicines". The obvious answer is "because those specific drugs are no longer profitable" -- yet another reason our healthcare system should NOT be a for-profit industry. sigh

It's very weird also to think about this in the context of the Torchwood plot.

+Darian Lewis or +Ellen Mah -- Jane's take on the baby and the earmuffs was pretty much the same as yours. Don't remember which one of you said it, but it definitely wasn't me. LOL. I was just thinking, OMG pink.
Jane Espenson of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Battlestar Galactica fame, shares her insider's perspective now that Torchwood has jumped to Starz.

What the heck is wrong w/ putting vegetables in your front garden? The city tried to get my parents for this back in the day (in Colorado). Our response was to hide the tomatoes and eggplants behind some tall flowers. Anyway, 93 days in jail is a RIDICULOUS response to someone planting vegetables. P.S., the people of Montreal got it right: http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/2011/07/11/go-to-jail-for-gardening-yes-if-you-live-in-in-michigan/

People aren't assuming she will lose, they are just afraid she will lose. There are appeals as well, so hopefully she'll come out OK.
