The worst thing you can do in your music career is settle for and expect financial struggles. When you do this, your fear WILL become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Instead, know that the belief that all musicians are destined to struggle financially is false and it does NOT have to be this way for you. Then, rather than worry about how to “not struggle financially”, dedicate yourself to learning how to BECOME financially successful as a musician.

Want to become a better guitar player? Don’t let a single day go by without practicing guitar. Consistency of your guitar practice is much more important than the amount of time you practice.

Instead of thinking about specific note names while you play guitar, memorize the feeling that each note gives as you play it. This will allow you to know how notes will sound BEFORE you play them, and will help you express yourself clearly on guitar.

You won't become a successful pro musician without a clear understanding of your goals and a plan to reach them. To plan your music career goals, start from the highest goal first. Then ask yourself what the final step is to reach that goal. Once you have figured this out, repeat this process until you arrive at where you are now. This will help you map out what actions need to be taken next to advance your music career.

What do you think is the secret to playing really tight rhythm guitar like a pro? Is it learning many different guitar riffs? No. Is it jamming with others? No. Is it practicing to a metronome? No.

Improve your ability to express emotion in guitar solos by playing only ONE note over a backing track and observing how that note feels. Then identify how that note functions over each chord - For example, an “A” note over A minor is the root, while an “A” note over F major is a third. This same concept applies no matter what note/chord is being used (all roots feel the same, all thirds feel the same, all fifths, etc.). Continue soloing by thinking about how each note functions and you will quickly be able to convey specific emotions whenever you play!
