An Exception

I've made a pact with myself not to fill this Collection with Trump tales of alternative facts, weird truths, strange beliefs and things only he can see (like a sunny day the moment he started to speak on his Inauguration when TV cameras were very clearly showing rain).

I am making a small exception on this one because either we believe the Pew study: that says "zero voter fraud in 2016 election" or ... in a quantum slip we grab a glimpse of an alternate reality where the most important man in the universe (because he is the ruler of the world's most powerful military and the planet's largest economy) fabricates stories and spreads them round as facts that others must now accept without question lest they seem disloyal.

In that universe there is an official attempt to subvert reality itself: using untruths and half-truths and gagging any and all government departments which are paid for by tax payer money from creating any kind of transparency: When transparency goes away: so does accountability. The only incontrovertible source of information then is the government that controls the truth.

Of course we know that place we've glimpsed through the quantum spacetime rift. It's Oceania ( A place where "The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. His heart sank as he thought of the enormous power arrayed against him, the ease with which any Party intellectual would overthrow him in debate, the subtle arguments which he would not be able to understand, much less answer. And yet he was in the right! They were wrong and he was right."

"And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.' -

Good thing it cannot happen in our times that "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength." ;)

Very clever - I enjoyed this very much for a bunch of reasons. Not the least of which is that I JUST got the pun in the title.

I'm dropping it here into G+ where I will come back to it at least once and expand (expound?) on the idea that this is an excellent example of the power of really understanding your target audiences and consistently delivering quality content that is refreshingly worthwhile for them.

+Over time, your brand becomes valued and your content is eagerly consumed. It is the kinder, gentler, more effective in your face but you love it marketing that wins fans and grows your business.+

Not just clever writing, but +great+ writing.

Speaking of which, did you get the pun? ;)

Interesting. does it again. I didn't realize +Twitter's Biz Stone is a local boy. I wonder - what is the top 10 list of things Ashland schools need that are NOT included in the list of critical items we hope will be funded by the override? #YESforAshland  #weneedthis   #classroomprojects

Here in my little town, #AshlandMA, we've got an organized effort to pass a Prop 2 1/2 override (we never have, and the carcass is picked dry).

The effort, called YES for Ashland  #yesforashland  is based on the #snowflake model. It's the only way we're going to get this über-critical operational override to pass. Stay tuned.

When I exhibited at Chester Art Fair 2015, I got the chance to see Chester Cathedral. An amazingly beautiful cathedral built in the shape of an enormous big cross. It's like it has more churches in one, or many chapels if you like. This pattern on the floor I think is a bit of a secret. It's hidden behind the main altar, next the choir boy's benches. It's a sort of a room right in the middle of the church, but for some reason you miss it.
