American politics in the 21st century ... you gotta love it.
I agree, Social Media "... nurtures short attention spans, the craving for instant gratification and impersonal barbaric behavior. No time for serious thinking or boning up on substance. A quick stimulating hit of social recognition will suffice. And no need for civility when you’re not looking someone in the eye."

So California’s Republican presidential primary will be a dud after all. Fantasizing about playing kingmaker — or crown denier — was fun for a while. But reality reared its head in Indiana.

G-Mail seems to use a brain-dead algorithm to sort my e-mail. I have an account with PayPal, but their mail always goes to promotions. I signed up for SpanishDict Word of the Day and the Echo Park Film Center newsletter and they both go to promotions. BUT a promotion from LouisCK goes to my Primary. WTF???

Soon after doctors at UCLA's Ronald Reagan Medical Center traced deadly infections to tainted medical scopes last year, they pressed the device maker to lend them replacements.

A good idea!!! +Mark Lees  who moderates a community (can't remember which one). has suggested a 1500 pixel photo width to his members. We have the bandwidth to handle this, so a BIG THUMBS UP to +Mark Lees

I'm in the process of deleting all my photos from my hard drives. I'm shredding all my CDs, negatives, prints and slides. Why am I doing this? The answer is simple—to save my children the trouble of doing it after I die.
BTW I'm not planning to die anytime soon.

These are NOT my children!
Recently I read a photographer's blog where he talked about all the megapixels of hard-driivs (in triplicate), plus back-up CDs/DVDs he had.

This is to me, overkill. How many product shot have any value after two year?. Executive portraits? You get the idea. BTW the reason I used this photo is that the product has been in production since the mid-1930s.

For those who think that their photos will be treasured by their grand-kids, may be wrong. My father recently died and one of his grandsons, has the unenviable task of sorting through all of his photos. The throwaway to keep ratio is running about 99% to 1%.

What do you think? Please leave a comment.

+Jean Beauregard  It's an Offenhauser water pump, designed in the early 1930s. Thirty three Indianapolis 500 winners used them. They are still use on race cars today,
Other people won't have to sort through them and discard 99% of them 8-)
I'm planning to digitize a few historical photos—I spent my life involved in auto racing and motion picture production. I'll register these with https://creativecommons.org

I'm part of what President Obama calls the Professional Left. I DO NOT want Wall Street Toady HRC in the White House, therefore I'm voting for Trump.

The idea seemed preposterous six months ago, but we should start wrapping our minds around the real possibility that Donald Trump could be the next president of the United States.

All of Google?? Why does my password work if I'm using the Safari browser, but NOT Crome. When using Chrome I get the message The email and password you entered don't match.

There is a difference between lighting and illumination
Introduction
I'm retired from the I.A.T.S.E. I have a low boredom tolerance, so I do a little advertising photography and consult on video lighting/production.

I've played around with a Flip Ultra-HD for several years, and got a Zoom Q3 earlier this year. They were so much fun that I got a Sony NEX 5n and will see about doing some real motion work again.
