A dark day for me:
About one month ago i was at the Big Sky Food and Wine Festival. There with me was someone i have always admired and enjoyed, Eric Dunham. We ended up sitting together at dinner and he could not have been more gracious, giving, caring and sharing. Believe me, in this industry, there are a lot of "nice" people but he was TRUEly nice.
We talked a lot about the industry especially his some 20 plus years in it and the advice he had. He gave it liberally and without an agenda.
For me it was one of the most satisfying experiences i have ever had in the industry and beyond.
We shared each other's wines and enjoyed talking about them. We even agreed to trade each other.
Darn it Eric, I for one will miss you more than you probably will ever know. You are one that gave me hope in a very tough industry.
As a mutual friend said: "I know his wines through Dunham Cellars have loosened the lips and lightened the loads of many, including myself. That’s as fine a legacy as any."
Come join me for both!!!
