Did a little comparison between the amino acid profiles of foods and protein/bcaa supplements. I think this advocates a meat and potatoes based diet being just as good as supplementing. I was trying to decide whether or not to take a BCAA, but now I see for the cost there is very little to offer. It would be more beneficial to focus on eating better than to drink a shake. Protein shakes do look like they are a pretty good replacement, since they have similar profiles to eggs or beef. But I wonder if the body is able to digest the liquid protein as effectively since it pretty much goes right through your stomach, where solid food would gradually work its way so the amount of protein per minute absorbed would be more within the body's ability.
