Searching Diagnostic Codes

To help you search for diagnostic codes in the claim record, you can enable a feature found under: MY PREFERENCES tab → Select "My Preferences" on the left menu → Select "Enable Diagnostic Code Suggestions" → Save

Within the "Diagnostic Code" field, you can enter key words of the diagnosis to search for the code. Keep in mind the diagnostic codes from the Ministry of Health are based from ICD-8.

Submit an RA Inquiry

To submit an RA Inquiry create an RA Inquiry form on the system by going to the "Reports" tab and on the left hand side of the screen you will see "RA Inquiry Form".

From there enter the claim ID and fill in the information to be fixed on the claim.

Once the PDF form is created, print it off and fax it to the user's Claim Assessor.

Enable Time Units, Surgical/Anesthesia

To set up claims so the user can just enter the time (ie. start time 11:30, end time 14:30) instead of trying to figure out the units, go to the "MY PREFERENCES" tab, click My Preferences" on the left hand side of the screen.

Once there scroll down to “SPECIFIC TO MEDICAL DISCIPLINES”, there will be a box with “Enable Time Unit Quantity (Anesthesia/Surgical)” click on that until you have a check mark, then click save.

When creating a new claim the user will now have the ability to enter the start and end times of the procedure to the service and the quantity will populate for them.

Resubmitting Rejected Claims

To resubmit a claim that has been rejected, click on the "Claims" tab, scroll down to "Claim Status", use the drop down menu to select "rejected" and click search.  Once your rejected claims load scroll down and click on the "Accounting ID" number to open the claim to find the reasons for the rejection.

The rejection code/error message will be in red within the claim and will indicate the reason for the rejection. Most rejections are dude to invalid patient demographics - health card, version code, DOB, etc.

The user can then correct the reason for the rejection, and simply click "save and submit".
