Thank you code.org!

"Parents & teachers often ask us how they can start introducing younger kids computer science. This is one of the best learn-to-code iOS apps we've seen for ages 4-8. Nice job, GoTynker!"

A great example of the magic and power of programming

This is really cool! Can you tell the real faces from the age-progressed ones?

"A truly special teacher is very wise, and sees tomorrow in every child's eyes"

A year ago, we launched Tynker for schools. Today with over 13,000 teachers and more than a million programming projects coded by students, we can only humbly say thank you. Thank you for being that truly special teacher, and having the vision to prepare your students for their future.

Have a great weekend!

Girls in STEM - interesting video, and a cool way to convey some important messages:

- At age 7, girls begin to lose confidence in math and science
- Female engineers earn 33% more than women in other fields
- Only 13% of engineers are women
Concluding with the hard-hitting:
-Girls are more than just princesses... they are our greatest resource.

We have shared in the past some shocking statistics of women in computer science:
- In 1984, more than 37 percent of computer science bachelor’s degrees in the United States were awarded to women.
- By 1995, the figure had dropped to about 28.5 percent
- In 2011 the number slid further to 17.6 percent
(If you missed that Tynker article, read here:
http://www.tynker.com/blog/articles/tynker/keep-coding-milly-jones/)

That's a really shocking slide, and we need to work together to change it.
More than half of all girls are unhappy with their bodies by age 13 … and this little girl might know why.
