J is for Join Getting involved with your trade association, chamber of commerce, or other industry club is a smart idea. It is even smarter to be active in the associations where your clients participate. Over the long ...

Kindness never goes out of style. Work hard as a sales person, but remember that being nice really does matter.
Many who write about sales lament being "nice" as a bad thing. Some sales leaders espouse that if you are too nice you cannot close sales. There is a whole movement to train those who sell that buyers only want efficient sal...

What can those of us in the event industry learn from TV Game Shows? Check out his article in the MPI Magazine from Sept 2016.
by Thom Singer Contributing Writer This year, two classic TV game shows, the $100000 Pyramid and To Tell The Truth, have returned to ABC's summertime prime time lineup. To Tell The Truth originally debuted in the 1950s, while The $10000 Pyramid first appeared in 1973 (clearly inflation has ...

Public Speaking Skills Education:

I am now offering Presentation Skills Training for Austin Technology Companies.

This product offering came about organically, as I have delivered presentations over the years for several local technology organizations, and at many company Users Conferences,.... and the question of training has come up.

I have spent the last few years working with engineers and executives from time to time, and continue to receive positive feed back.

My passion for presentations is nothing new, as I believe that audiences desire and deserve both content and style from anyone who is speaking.

I have seen technologists get passed over for promotions and founders be pushed aside for more eloquent leaders.  This does not need to happen.

The onset of social media has taken the focus away from the importance of live communications, but the more we move online, the more critical off-line becomes.
