As many of my friends in the meetings industry are planning to come to Austin in 3 weeks for PCMA Convening Leaders, I made a list of things to do and places to eat. This list is just the start, there is so much to do in the Texas Capital City.
With the PCMA Convening Leaders event just days away I am getting some inquiries from friends and clients about fun things to do in Austin (since I have lived in the Texas Capital for 25 years). Here are some ideas, but ther...

From Colorado to Texas, The Celebrate Life Book Tour continues. Special thanks to +Thom Singer for having me on his show, Cool Things Entrepreneurs Do. In this highlight clip, Thom and I riff about:

1:15 - The law of attraction & why you never want to be the smartest person in the room.

3:35 - How to be a rock star connector like +Neen James

4:30 - The entrepreneur's double edged sword & why "complacency is the enemy of progress."

6:40 - My advice for an aspiring entrepreneur.

8:40 - How the stigma of being an entrepreneur has evolved.

9:50 - Why +Mike Walter's latest literary effort makes him one of the coolest entrepreneurs in the biz.

11:10 - How I pay it forward & why Thom and I agree that successful entrepreneurs should be grateful.

Should we still go to networking events after the election? Afterall, there might be people who voted for the other side.
You can network in a politically charged world. The 2016 election in the United States lasted a long time and was an emotionally charged experience for many people. The success of Donald Trump was viewed with surprise by ...

Public Speaking Skills Education:

I am now offering Presentation Skills Training for Austin Technology Companies.

This product offering came about organically, as I have delivered presentations over the years for several local technology organizations, and at many company Users Conferences,.... and the question of training has come up.

I have spent the last few years working with engineers and executives from time to time, and continue to receive positive feed back.

My passion for presentations is nothing new, as I believe that audiences desire and deserve both content and style from anyone who is speaking.

I have seen technologists get passed over for promotions and founders be pushed aside for more eloquent leaders.  This does not need to happen.

The onset of social media has taken the focus away from the importance of live communications, but the more we move online, the more critical off-line becomes.
