On Wednesday, this Community will be hosting an live Hangout On Air with the +San Diego Convention Center's VP of Public Affairs, Steven Johnson

This event has been generating a lot of enthusiasm across the web and I'm really excited about this opportunity to hear from the team behind the expansion itself. The population of a native San Diego Bay fish species is beginning to recover, thanks to a program funded in part by the Port of San Diego's environmental fund. On Friday, March 8, 2013, around 5:30 p.m., more than 7,000 white seabass are scheduled to be released into San Diego Bay.

The day-to-day operations of the Port of San Diego's Harbor Police Department can change in a heartbeat. Harbor Police officers patrol on both water and land – around the clock – servicing the Port's five member cities: San Diego, Imperial Beach, National City, Coronado, and Chula Vista. Check out our video of the officers on patrol.

Encouraging responsible growth and sustainability around San Diego Bay tidelands.
Introduction
If you’ve spent time along the tidelands of San Diego Bay, did you know you were enjoying the state lands entrusted to the Port of San Diego? The Port was created by the California state legislature to manage San Diego Bay and surrounding waterfront land on December 18, 1962.

The Port has operated without tax dollars since 1970 and has been responsible for $1.5 billion in public improvements in its five member cities: Imperial Beach, National CityChula VistaSan Diego and Coronado waterfront properties.

The Port oversees two maritime cargo terminalstwo cruise ship terminals, 17 public parks, the Harbor Police Department and the leases of more than 600 tenant and sub tenant businesses around San Diego Bay.
