My secret for the easiest way to peel garlic revealed.
Today I want to share with you the absolute EASIEST way to peel garlic cloves.  You're going to love this one, and no sticky fingers, no stinky cutting board, and no potentially dangerous knife smashing.   Grab a couple of garlic cloves and an empty jar with a lid.  Place the cloves in the jar, cover lightly with the lid, and shake-shake-shake for 15-20 seconds until the papery skins magically fall away from the garlic cloves.  Ta-Da...

making college girl's favorite pasta dish for dinner tonight
Tagliatelle with Kielbases Onions and Tomatoes - ButterYum I'm so happy to be able to share this accidental family-favorite pasta dish with you.  It came about in the usual way - I had no idea what to make for dinner, but I needed to get something on the table and the only thing I had in the fridge was a ring of Kielbasa.  I honestly didn't expect us to like it as much as we did, but we devoured it so I quickly jotted down the recipe...

Ringing in the New Year with the delicious pork roast. http://www.butteryum.org/blog/2014/11/2/paulas-smoked-boston-butt-roast
Paula's Smoked Boston Butt Roast - ButterYum Now that the outside temperature has started to fall, I'm looking forward to the return of warmer weather.  Since warmer weather won't be here for 5 or 6 months, I can pretend it's warm out by making this delicious pork roast recipe.  It has all the summer flavor of a smoked pork roast, but it cooks right inside my oven.        Layer onions and bay leaves in the bottom of a roasting pan; ...

Got a leftover ham bone, but you're not sure what to do with it? Don't throw it away - use it to make an amazing pot of bean soup from scratch. Ham and Bean Soup - ButterYum One of the most delicious ways I've found to use up leftover ham is to make a big pot of this fantastic soup - the beans are so creamy and the broth is so full of flavor that your guests will definitely want seconds! If you've never made ham stock, have no fear ...

instant gratification!
I had one piece of pie left and needed just a small amount of whipped cream so I grabbed a jar and made some.  Here's how. Pour about 2 tablespoons of heave cream in a jar.  Pick a jar that will allow you to shake the cream vigorously with room for it to move around, but don't pick a jar that's too big. Then add about 1/2 teaspoon confectioners sugar. And about 1/4 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Then put the lid on and start ...
