I prefer Roti to Chipotle or Cava - the falafel in a fresh-baked pita was great. If you go at an off time, it might be worth waiting for a fresh pita.

Roti is a fantastic lunch option in Downtown DC! The portions are generous, the quality of the food is excellent, and the staff are extremely friendly. Last time I visited the restaurant, manager made a point of asking each table for opinions about a new (more) sustainable rice now being served at all locations (it's excellent!). He was genuinely interested in our feedback, and graciously thanked us for our business. I'm not used to such attentive treatment at a casual place like Roti! Try the hommous, tzatziki, grilled chicken and falafal - all very fresh and flavorful.

Number 1, Roti is a delicious mediterranean option for lunch or a quick dinner. (@ any location) If you plan to go for lunch, go a few minutes before 12pm to beat the rush. It is a similar set up to a Chipotle where you choose your base, then your meat, then your sauce & toppings. Very efficient, quick, and as I said delicious. Every single time I go it is a good experience. Today, I even asked the manager at the F &13th St location for a to-go box and instead of having me wait up front for it, he told me he'd bring it to me. Very kind (and something you wouldn't find at a "normal" fast food joint, esp during the rush of lunch)!!

Sorry to say but Cava just does it better. Since the closest Roti location is closed on the weekend, I walked down to Foggy Bottom location to pick up their salmon rice bowl with couscous, hummus, and purple cabbage slaw to go. My first thought when I saw how tiny the salmon piece especially for $2 extra was what a rip off - Appetizer sized at most - 2 bites and it was gone. To make things worse - it had been sitting around for way too long (Dry and cold) - Thank goodness for tzatziki sauce! The purple cabbage slaw tasted pretty much like crunchy plastic. Where was the flavor? It was left to their creamy hummus and fluffy couscous to save the day. I would definitely eat these two sides again and again. With Cava just the down street from where I live, probably won't go out of my way to give Roti another try any time soon. Perhaps I would return for their falafel or chicken - but definitely stay away from the dry, cold salmon

Except for the meat, the food was cold and somehow tasteless with partially cooked cold rice, and cold boiled vegetables. The piece of bread helped you not feeling hungry at the end. I will not go there again.
