I decided I needed a year long photography challenge and thought the Dogwood 52 Week Photo Challenge would work for me. The challenge sets out themes for each week based around either portraits, landscapes and artistic. Portraits are going to be my challenge! I started it about 3 weeks ago ... so only 49 to go!

Check out the first 3 weeks shots on my website at the link below and feel free to follow my journey.

The Lindis Pass in Central Otago, still covered in snow and looking spectacular as the cold still grips the south of the South Island. I love how the snow transforms the landscape.

I think sometimes we humans fabricate reasons not to do the very things that would give us great joy and happiness. I overcame one of those “fabricated reasons” last year about my photography. I learnt that it pays to ‘give it a try’  and listen to your heart! Check out the full story at the link below.

I was coming back to #Queenstown, #NewZealand from a little jaunt up to #Glenorchy, New Zealand over the weekend and timed it perfectly to see a 'not-so-full' #moon rising over the #Remarkables. Despite not being full it was pretty impressive!

Wanting a photography challenge I set off last week on Friday and travelled from Queenstown to Waimate. My intent was to capture 26 images that represented each letter of the alphabet. Here is the result! :)

It's still raining in town and snowing on the tops here in Queenstown. I've been sorting through photos all day. A great wet day activity. As I was doing this I came across this shot from a tramping trip 2 years ago. This is the Valley of the Trolls, not an enticing name but a beautiful valley especially in the morning.

One of the special spots that, after the weather we have had the last week or so, will have a little bit more snow in it than in my image.

One of the #prettiest   #waterfalls  I have seen. This is #WaiauFalls  in the #Coromandel  on the 309 Road. Well worth the detour!

I've spent the last few days traveling up the West Coast of the South Island to join family for Christmas. The West Coast has to be one of the best places, especially when you get gloriously hot sunny weather, an aqua blue Tasman Sea and our native New Zealand Christmas tree, the Southern Rata, in bloom. A magic start to the festive season! Happy times!
