Here is a new little mini series I just shot a few weeks ago.  Playing with the reversal of the surface to create a surreal, dreamy space.

Title: "Adrift"
I loved the reflection that formed in this moment.  It becomes the subject.  The model is almost secondary to her own reflection.

~~~SAVE THE DATE! ~~~~
I am having a solo show in Los Angeles opening on Friday May 30th! The gallery is Hale Arts Space in Santa Monica. It is a "pop up" show, so it will only be up for a week. The reception is from 5-8pm. I would be delighted to see you there!
Title: "Inhale"
The posing of my subject, Laura Yntema, is so simple and relaxed.  I feel like it is a very relatable moment for my viewers.  All of us who like the water have had a moment where we just relax from swimming and let our bodies float to the surface.    Giving in to the environment.  Since her head is out of the water, we know that she can breath and could just float there all day.  I like the visual escape here.  I hope you can take a moment to put yourself in this space, take a deep breath, and float.
Title: "Stay"
This image is hanging in our room and I see it first thing every morning.  It has a very centering and calming effect on me.  Her reflection has such a strong effect on the pose and strengthens the image.  The wonderful yet sometimes difficult thing about shooting in water near the surface is that you capture 2 images at once - the subject and their reflection.  They need to compliment rather than compete with one another.
