Want to play Kingdom in New York? New meetup group with a first session in July.

Hi everyone! I am beginning my job search and hunting down leads. I have an undergraduate degree in creative non-fiction (literary journalism) and computer science, and will soon have a master's degree in information science with a specialization in library science. I also have a pretty solid amount of experience in IT. I'm open to private sector and public sector jobs, and I don't mind technical responsibilities, but I don't want to be a software developer or a code monkey. If you happen to come across any leads, shoot them my way? Thanks everyone! <3

Everyone needs to play "Digital: A Love Story" ASAP. It's free, runs on Windows, Linux and OSX, and is simultaneously about the internet in the 70's and 80's (the interface is an "Amie Workbench," which is based off the Amiga and you play a BBS user), and a cute science fiction story. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to play. It's amazing. You need to play it. You can download it here: http://scoutshonour.com/digital/

Of course liking to read alone is not going to get you a job, but I still maintain that every librarian will find a place in his or her heart for the following.

I don't think a public library should be ENTIRELY makerspace, but I support the concept of housing makerspace in the public library. http://infospace.ischool.syr.edu/2011/12/01/a-makerspace-takes-over-a-local-library/

And of course, the new update will put rooted Kindle Fires right back in jail. At least they don't get bricked. http://bit.ly/tQas5S
