I facilitate workshops, share strategies, and develop resources to support educators in designing learning environments where both the instructor and the students are involved, engaged, and successful.
I provide ideas, insights, and inspiration for educators on topics including teaching, active learning, student engagement, instructional design, faculty development, and professional development for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
Over the past 15 years, I have facilitated more than 3,000 workshops, presentations, and professional development events. I have worked with more than 10,000 graduate students, postgraduate scholars, faculty members, and leaders representing nearly every profession within industry, education, government, and nonprofit settings.
In 2011, I created FLIP It Consulting, an educational consulting company where I focus on facilitating workshops, sharing strategies, and designing resources to support educators in creating engaging learning environments using the FLIP! What’s the FLIP? The FLIP is when you “Focus on your Learners by Involving them in the Process.”
The FLIP means reversing how you design a learning environment so learners focus on higher level learning outcomes to increase engagement and enhance learning during the class time. When we work together, you'll see that I “practice what I teach”…I FLIP my own events so you can see and feel how the inverted instruction model works from the learner's point of view.
