I'm thrilled that the Tribeca Film Festival will premier "14 Minutes from Earth" this April in NYC. This is the true story of our team's three year effort to build a scuba-like systems for exploring the stratosphere. The final test of the system was a balloon jump from over 25 miles (41 km) , descending at speeds of over 820 mph (1320 km/h). A huge thank you to the amazing StratEx team, my family for not killing me along the way, Jerry Kolber and the folks at Atomic Entertainment for their inspired filmmaking, and Tribeca for giving us the opportunity to share it with our friends. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the support during this long three years.   The StratEx team was amazing, and I can't thank them enough for their incredible engineering, perseverance, and enthusiasm.   They ROCK!   Also a big thank you to my family, who were not as excited about this project as I was, but put up with it, because it made me happy.   It was a huge sacrifice, and I can't thank them enough.

Beryl Nelson debuted a really nice video about Anita at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women and Computing last week.   Anita's passion for increasing the representation of women in computer science comes alive though stories from her many friends, including me.   She died too young, but her dreams live on.

Incredible Space  X technology.    The idea is that only a tiny percentage of all the cost of a rocket is fuel.  The rest is made up on non-reusable component.   If you could just reuse the entire rocket, the economics change dramatically.
Hexacopter video of a rocket that takes off and lands vertically, built by a private company that already has orbital capability and wants to send people to Mars.  Oh yeah, and the same guy is building an electric car that just won Car of the Year.  Did the future I was promised as a kid in '2001' et al finally arrive?  Hats off to Elon Musk.  Now about global warming....
