I have several entries in the @Lays#DoUsAFlavor contest for $1MIL but the Parmesan Pesto Bacon chips seem to be one of the more favorites of my entries. If you like the sound of it, can you give it a vote? (Contest ends tomorrow.) Thanks! <3

This is a story about 13-year old Chandra Starr, how she's raising $10,000 for my/our Growing Food Forward program and her compelling reasons for eating organic and for her goal of getting fresh organic produce to those in need and to our food pantries.  <3

This is the blog I wrote that has just been published by The Huffington Post. I hope you'll take time to learn about what the GOP House leadership is demanding through the $40 BILLION they want to cut from the SNAP (food stamp) program in a vote they are taking soon! Please CALL or get in the face of your representative in Congress, ASAP!  This is a matter of our national security. Thanks.  <3

I thought I'd be more active in this community but while distributing 1200 packets of organic herb & vegetable seeds to over 200 gardeners in 4 counties, my Plant A Row To End Hunger program ended up building and planting 35 gardens in 30 days on donated plots, (with the help of over 200 volunteers including autistic young adults and 162 summer school students). The gardeners donate their produce directly to the food pantries while the produce from the gardens we built are distributed directly to the doors of seniors, disabled and kids without school lunches in summer. This week we harvested over 200 lbs of food out of the gardens we built. I'm kinda proud of that so thought I'd share some photos with y'all. (The tomatoes and peppers are late since we had a cool, cloudy August but we should have 11 varieties of each this week so I'll share those photos when they ripen.) If you'd like to see photos of what all we've accomplished almost daily for the past 3 months, please visit our Facebook page. Any community can replicate what we've done.  <3 https://www.facebook.com/PlantARowToEndHunger

Greetings All!

I live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, near Aspen where we never know how long our growing season will be. I love gardening and have been growing veggies and herbs the past 4 years. I'm also a hunger fighter so have combined both passions into a huge project, Plant a Row to End Hunger. I was able to get 1600 packets of donated organic, GMO-free herb and veggie seeds which I sorted today with students from our local college's sustainability class. We're getting ready to distribute seed to gardeners in towns from Aspen out to the Utah border, will have teams of volunteers to pick up the produce to deliver to shut-ins, seniors, and children without their school lunch program. We're also setting up free gardening, pest & weed control, cooking, etc. classes and many other things. (And, I'm also currently a semi-finalist for $1 Million in the 46th Pillsbury Bake-Off "Doable Dinners" category.) Looking forward to seeing all your gardens and advice.  :)

I’m a semi-finalist in this year’s 46th Pillsbury Bake-Off contest! If you can spare a minute to vote for my Thai Shrimp Pizza, you could help send me to Las Vegas in November to compete for the $1,000,000 grand prize. The recipe is 1/2 way down the page in the center column and has my name and "Carbondale, Colorado". I would be eternally grateful! Many thanks in advance! ♥ ~ ~ http://bit.ly/YtmKHI
